Kat Timpf has been juggling pregnancy, TV, and now—an unexpected cancer diagnosis. The Fox News star shocked fans with an emotional Instagram post, revealing she was diagnosed with breast cancer just hours before giving birth to her first child.
The 36-year-old, who remained on-air well into her third trimester, shared the news that she welcomed her son last week—just 15 hours after receiving her diagnosis.
“Last week, I welcomed my first child into the world. About fifteen hours before I went into labor, I was diagnosed with breast cancer,” she wrote.
Thankfully, Timpf’s doctors caught the cancer at stage zero and are confident it hasn’t spread.
Despite the overwhelming turn of events, Timpf leaned on her signature humor to cope, even making light of her tumor scan.
“I asked all the questions I could, including if I could get a copy of my tumor ultrasound to put on the fridge next to the ultrasound of my baby,” she joked.
Timpf, who married Army veteran Cameron Friscia in 2021, finally revealed the gender of her baby—a boy—who she didn’t officially meet until after labor.
“By the middle of the night, I was crawling around the floor of my apartment in spontaneous labor, before heading to the hospital to meet my baby, whom I’d learn at the time of birth was a son.”
Now on maternity leave, Timpf admitted it’s not the break she envisioned, but she’s staying positive.
“These next three months of maternity leave are going to look a lot different than I’d anticipated, and I’m still getting used to my new reality,” she wrote. “Still, as I navigate new motherhood (and new cancer), I’m learning to celebrate everything I can.”
Despite everything, she’s grateful for early detection—and for her son.
“I’m lucky that we found the cancer so early; I’m lucky to be my son’s mom. I mean, I know I’m biased, but the little dude absolutely rules—and not just because he might have saved my life.”
Even before her diagnosis, Timpf faced criticism for working late into her pregnancy, with online trolls questioning her health and choices.
She didn’t hold back in her response.
“I am under the close care of a doctor, and I promise that both of us know and care far more about my health and the health of my own baby than any random online stranger does from just seeing me on TV,” she fired back.
Despite the noise, Timpf worked until the very end—even joking about how long her pregnancy felt.
“Yes, I’m still pregnant. Yes, I’m past my due date. Yes, this is the longest pregnancy of all time.”
And for those wondering whether she’d take a break?
“Yes, I’m still working. No, I don’t want to stop working.”
