Kamala Harris’ Aides ‘Awkwardly’ Shut Down Fox News Interview (Video)

Fox News anchor Bret Baier highlighted a tense moment during his interview with Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday night, which ended abruptly after her staff signaled a “hard wrap” despite her late arrival.

“Madam Vice President, they’re wrapping me very hard here,” Baier interrupted, a little more than 20 minutes into the interview, adding that there were still “a lot of things” people wanted to know about her policies.

Harris, 59, had been evasive on key issues, including positions she distanced herself from after her 2019 presidential run, often without explanation. As Baier tried to continue, Harris spoke over him, urging viewers to visit her campaign website before the interview ended.

“Madam Vice President, they’re giving me a hard wrap here,” Baier reiterated, with Harris responding awkwardly, “I thank you for the time.”

Following the segment, Baier, Fox News’ chief political anchor, revealed that multiple Harris aides had been signaling him to cut the interview short, despite Harris arriving 17 minutes late. Her staff showed no interest in extending the time.

“I’m talking about four people waving their hands like ‘It’s got to stop,’” Baier explained, expressing frustration at how the tough questioning was cut off before the 30-minute mark. “There are so many things, and maybe she should do more of these,” Baier remarked, alluding to Harris’ avoidance of challenging questions.

Baier had pressed the vice president on the administration’s handling of immigration, her previous stance on Iran as America’s top adversary, and the growing concerns over President Biden’s cognitive decline. Harris dodged many of the questions, including one about the administration’s permissive immigration policies that have allowed millions of migrants, including 1.7 million known “gotaways,” into the country.

When asked about the easing of sanctions on Iran, which critics say has helped fund terrorist proxies like Hamas and Hezbollah, Harris pivoted the discussion back to Trump. Similarly, when Baier asked about Biden’s mental acuity, Harris deflected, saying the American people are more concerned about Trump.

Her only defense of Biden came in the form of praise for his “judgment and experience,” while deflecting once more by saying, “Joe Biden is not on the ballot.”
