Horrors Found Inside Nick Reiner’s Hotel Room After His Parents’ Murder

Hollywood is reeling after a crime scene straight out of a nightmare.

According to TMZ, the hotel room of Nick Reiner — son of famed director Rob Reiner and producer Michele Reiner— was discovered covered in blood just hours after his parents were found dead inside their Brentwood mansion on Sunday.

Police say the couple’s daughter Romy Reiner made the gruesome discovery at the family’s $13.5 million home, where both Rob, 78, and Michele, 70, were found with their throats slit.

Sources told TMZ that Rob and Nick had been spotted arguing at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party only hours before the killings. Nick, 32, reportedly checked into The Pierside Hotel in Santa Monica around 4 a.m. Sunday morning — “tweaked out,” witnesses said — and vanished before checkout.

When hotel staff entered the room, what they found was straight out of a horror film:
a shower full of blood, blood on the bed, and a sheet covering the window.
The discovery reportedly happened before police even found the bodies.

By Monday, Nick had been located and arrested at Exposition Park, 20 miles away. He’s now being held without bail at Twin Towers Correctional Facility on suspicion of murder.

Romy reportedly told police her brother was “dangerous” and urged them to arrest him immediately.

The deaths of Rob and Michele Reiner — beloved fixtures in Hollywood and longtime activists — have sent shockwaves across the industry.

Elijah Wood, who starred in Reiner’s 1994 film North, wrote, “Horrified to hear of the passing of Rob Reiner and his wonderful wife Michele. So much love to their kids and family.”

Zooey Deschanel, who appeared with Reiner on New Girl, called him “the warmest, funniest, most generous of spirits.”

Ben Stiller described the late filmmaker as “a kind, caring person who was really, really funny.”

Fans have been leaving flowers on Rob’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star since Monday.

Then came the shocker that added insult to tragedy:
President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to suggest the couple’s deaths were caused by “TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME.”

His post — mocking Reiner’s long-standing criticism of him — was swiftly condemned across the political spectrum. Even Marjorie Taylor Greene called the message “disrespectful,” while Rep. Thomas Massie blasted it as “inappropriate discourse about a man who was just brutally murdered.”

Trump later doubled down, calling Reiner “very bad for our country.”

In a heartfelt moment on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Michelle Obama praised the Reiners as “decent, courageous people” who “put their actions behind what they cared about.”

“They cared about their family, and they cared about this country,” she said.

Friends close to the Reiners say Nick’s long struggle with substance abuse had taken a heavy toll on the family in recent years. What began as rehab and recovery reportedly spiraled back into chaos in 2025.

Now, the Hollywood dynasty once defined by laughter and storytelling is consumed by tragedy — and a community is left asking how such darkness could strike one of its most beloved families.
