Wild night in Thailand as a pro soccer player got into a major scuffle with a retired U.S. cop and a bar employee after allegedly trying to skip out on his tab—and karma came fast.

The drama unfolded early Monday morning outside the Tinder Bar in Udon Thani, where Brazilian player Osvaldo Dos Santos Neto was caught on video leaving the bar. Everything seemed normal at first—until the bar staff followed him outside over a 5,100-baht bill (around $162).

Things quickly spiraled out of control. A 74-year-old retired U.S. cop, Douglas Robin Barker, started filming the scene, which apparently set Neto off. He slapped Barker hard enough to knock him to the ground.

Bystanders didn’t stay quiet. One woman even threw her shoe at Neto, who shoved her before trying to make a getaway in his Honda. That plan didn’t go smoothly—locals and bar staff chased him down, pulled him from the car, and gave him a piece of their mind before he finally managed to drive off.

Police confirmed two bar employees were hurt, with abrasions on their faces and hands. Bar owner Kanyanee Kaewnok said they plan to file a police report and pursue legal action. According to Kanyanee, Neto showed up around 3 a.m., drank beers, and hung out until dawn. When the bill was presented, he claimed his bank account was locked.

“He sat there for hours refusing to pay. I suggested he use the nearby ATM, but when he walked out, we felt something was off,” Kanyanee explained. “He kept grabbing his car keys and tried to run. We surrounded him and tried to talk, but the chaos you saw happened.”

Neto, 42, is a winger/midfielder from Brazil who has played for several Thai League teams, including PT Prajuap FC and Srisaket United. He had just signed with Udon United days before the incident.

It’s still unclear how this will affect his standing with the club, but one thing’s for sure—this is a night no one involved will forget anytime soon.
