Meghan Markle’s latest Paris Fashion Week moment turned into a viral spectacle — and not in the way she probably hoped.
The Duchess of Sussex showed up to Balenciaga’s runway event in a dramatic white cape dress with fabric wrapped around her chest and neck, clutching a small black purse. But instead of praise, the internet went wild mocking her “bizarre” walk and “ridiculous” outfit.

One X user quipped that Meghan was “trying to give Zoolander a run for his supermodel walk,” sharing a gif of Ben Stiller’s famous runway parody and dubbing her look “Zoolander wrapped in holy toilet paper.”
Others piled on. “She loves the tampon look,” one person commented. “She wore something similar a couple years ago.” Some simply called her a “loser” or “fake,” as laughing emojis filled the replies.
And that wasn’t Meghan’s only awkward Paris moment. When she tried to greet Balenciaga’s creative director, Pier Paolo Piccioli, she went in for a cheek kiss — but instead bumped her nose into his sunglasses. He laughed it off and posed for a photo, but the clip spread fast.
The duchess then stirred up even more outrage with a social media video she shared during Fashion Week, showing her relaxing in a car as it drove across several Paris bridges — including one near the Pont de l’Alma tunnel, where Princess Diana died in 1997.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams slammed the post as “utterly bewildering” and “insensitive beyond belief.” He told reporters, “I don’t understand what she was thinking — no adviser would ever approve something so strange. To share a video connected in any way to the tragic death of the Princess of Wales defies belief.”
He added, “I’m sure she didn’t mean to cause offense, but it shows a complete absence of thought.”
Between her “Zoolander” strut and a tone-deaf social media post, Meghan’s Paris trip is being called one of her most disastrous public outings yet.
