Prince William is said to be “livid beyond words” after Meghan Markle posted what many are calling an insensitive and grotesque video taken just steps from the Paris tunnel where Princess Diana died nearly three decades ago.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, reportedly filmed herself during a late-night car ride in Paris while attending Fashion Week — flashing her heels in the backseat of a limo as it cruised past the Pont de l’Alma tunnel, the very spot where Diana lost her life in a tragic 1997 crash.
A palace insider told journalist Rob Shuter that William “went white with anger” when he saw the clip. “To him, it wasn’t just bad taste — it was personal desecration,” the source said. “That tunnel is sacred ground. For Meghan to treat it like a selfie moment was the ultimate insult.”
‘Grotesque’ and ‘Deeply Personal’
Princess Diana’s fatal accident happened when the car she was riding in slammed into a concrete pillar under the Pont de l’Alma while being chased by paparazzi. Her companion Dodi Fayed and driver Henri Paul also died, leaving a teenage William and a 12-year-old Harry heartbroken.
For William, who has spent years protecting his mother’s legacy, the video felt like a slap in the face. “He couldn’t believe she’d film herself near the very spot that destroyed his family,” the insider added.
Meghan’s ‘Artistic’ Defense Falls Flat
Sources close to Meghan claim she didn’t mean to offend anyone, insisting the clip was intended to be “artistic, not offensive.” They also allege she didn’t realize how close she was to the crash site.
Still, the timing raised eyebrows. The video was reportedly taken after she attended Balenciaga’s Paris Fashion Week show and dined out in a sleek black dress — before filming her drive past the city’s iconic bridges and that infamous tunnel.
“Harry’s caught in the middle again,” one source said. “He knows it looks bad but is trying to calm things privately.”

“Meghan Markle booked a Mercedes in Paris, then filmed herself near the tunnel where Princess Diana died in a Mercedes. This is beyond insensitive,” one user posted on X.
Another wrote, “What kind of wife goes on a joy ride past the place where her husband’s mother died? Oh wait — Meghan Markle.”
And a third blasted the video as “spectacularly in bad taste.”
While Meghan’s camp continues to insist it was a misunderstanding, the damage appears done — and William’s fury reportedly shows no signs of cooling anytime soon.

Honestly, the fact she (Meghan) breathes is enough to “anger” Prince William. While I agree that what she did was in poor taste, the fact is that that is public road – anyone can ride on it and even do selfies/videos/photo ops while in that area. I’m sure tons of Diana fans, while vacationing in the area, have gone to the location of the crash and taken photos … is he getting mad at them too??
