Prince Harry is itching to spend more time back in the U.K., but there’s one big question hanging over the plan: where will he and Meghan Markle live?
Sources say the Duke of Sussex, 41, hopes to fly in every few months starting in 2026 as he works to rebuild his relationship with King Charles. The King, now 76, is said to be eager to bond with grandkids Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4.
But finding a home base could get tricky.
Royal insiders say Charles is open to offering the Sussexes a property, but definitely not one next door to Prince William and Kate Middleton. “There are plenty of empty properties on the estate,” one source explained. “But I don’t think being next door to William and Kate would go down too well.”
And then there’s Meghan.
The Duchess, 44, reportedly has zero interest in royal estates. Instead, she’d prefer the celeb-packed Cotswolds, a countryside hotspot where Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi, and even Beyoncé and Jay-Z are said to have homes. Meghan spent time there when she first got engaged to Harry, and insiders say it’s still her top choice.
“Harry would love to come back to the U.K. more,” a source told Radar. “But Meghan feels like the royals could be using his reconciliation with Charles as a way to drive a wedge between them. She’s worried he’s getting pulled back into the fold.”
Friends of the couple say Meghan supports Harry’s reconnection with his dad, but fears his homesickness is pulling his attention away from their Montecito life. “She feels like she’s losing him,” one insider claimed.
So while Harry insists he’s not moving back “into the institution,” it’s clear this royal tug-of-war over where to call home is far from over.

We don’t want to hear about these people…
Prince harry needs to grow him a pair and dump his ole lady
So let her stay in the US and he take up a residence at one of the UK properties and he can stay there whenever he wants, as long as he wants. He’ll have a place that the kids can go to, safely, and get to know their UK family better. And no, it doesn’t have to be near William and Kate. I mean if she is so adamant about not heading to the UK, that’s her own business. It shouldn’t stop Harry from doing what he wishes when it comes to his own family and desires to be back in the UK – whatever his reasons. Marriages are about compromises – maybe it’s time Meghan learns that.
