Bill Clinton appeared frail and unsteady during a public outing in New York City this week, igniting fresh concerns over the former president’s health—and drawing striking comparisons to President Joe Biden’s own public stumbles.

Video footage from outside the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan shows Clinton, 78, awkwardly trying to lift himself from the street to the sidewalk. Gripping a pole for support, his left leg appeared to give out, forcing him into a visible stumble just steps away from fans and security.

“He looked like he was going to fall,” said one eyewitness who attended the event. “It was uncomfortable to watch.”

The moment was caught on camera and quickly exploded online. “Bill can hardly walk,” posted conservative commentator Buzz Patterson, sharing the now-viral clip. Another X user added, “Clinton is starting to stumble around like Joe Biden.”

Observers noted that Clinton’s wife, Hillary, 76, seemed unfazed. She walked several paces ahead and began signing autographs while Bill struggled behind her. “She left him in her dust,” one user quipped, calling Clinton’s condition “obviously fragile.”

The Clintons were in town promoting their new co-authored book with thriller novelist James Patterson, titled The First Gentleman—a political drama centered around a fictional female president and her scandal-entangled husband.

But Wednesday night’s headlines were less about plot twists and more about Clinton’s troubling appearance. Some attendees described him as “pale” and “slow-moving,” with others saying his gait was “shaky” and “Bidenlike.”

This isn’t the first time Clinton’s health has made headlines. He’s suffered a series of serious medical episodes since leaving the White House:

  • In 2004, Clinton underwent quadruple bypass heart surgery in New York.
  • In 2010, doctors inserted two stents into a coronary artery after he experienced chest pain.
  • In 2021, he was hospitalized in California for a bloodstream infection caused by a urinary tract infection.
  • Just last December, he was admitted to a Washington, D.C., hospital for the flu.

While his staff has long played down the severity of these incidents, critics say the signs of decline are now undeniable.

“Between Biden and Clinton, Democrats have a serious age problem,” said one political analyst. “The public is watching their leaders physically fall apart in real time.”

Despite the stumble, Clinton made his way to a group of autograph seekers and posed for photos. But the moment left many wondering if America’s political elders are truly up to the demands of public life.

“Watching Bill Clinton struggle to walk should be a wake-up call,” one social media user posted. “This is what decades in Washington does to a man.”

  1. For crying out loud, they “” ALL “” stumble at some point and time. Just recently, didn’t Dumpty Don stumble on the steps going into an airplane ? Even the great Donald is susceptible to falls or stumbles. Give it a rest. When we are all at or near 80 years old, it’s gonna happen.

  2. YET WHEN TRUMPS ACTS THE SAME WAY WITH HIS QUITE PUBLIC STUMBLING YOUR SITE DOWN PLAYS THAT OR MAKES UP EXCUSES FOR TRUMP. CUT IT OUT NOW!!!
