Kamala Harris is using her book tour to rebrand herself as the heir to Hillary Clinton’s political machine—and to distance herself from Joe Biden.
The former vice president launched her memoir, 107 Days, this week in New York City, drawing a packed crowd inside The Town Hall theater while protesters outside accused her of fueling the Gaza war. Harris leaned heavily on her bond with Hillary and Bill Clinton, telling supporters the former first couple “jumped on board” the very day Biden dropped out of the 2024 race.
“Sometimes you get that mentorship, sometimes you don’t,” Harris told the audience. “Hillary Clinton is one of those people who actually lifts people up. And she follows through.”
Biden Breakup in Print
Harris’ 300-page book is filled with thinly veiled jabs at Biden. She writes that it was “reckless” for the octogenarian to run again, slams his staff for leaving her exposed to bad press, and says his disastrous debate with Donald Trump sealed the end of his presidency.
“It wasn’t about him,” Harris insisted on stage. “It was about my fight, my story, and how close we came.”
But former Biden aides aren’t buying it. Several blasted her for “scapegoating” instead of owning what they called her own campaign missteps.
Pancakes, Panic, and a Phone Call
Harris paints the day Biden quit as a surreal domestic scene. She was cooking pancakes for her great-nieces in sweats and an old Howard University sweatshirt when a blocked call came in.
“It was Joe. He told me he wasn’t running. And then all hell broke loose,” she recalled.
Within hours, Harris says she dialed the Clintons’ home number. “Hillary picked up. Then Bill picked up the other line. They told me, ‘We’ll take Amtrak, we’ll fly—whatever it takes. We want to be in the war room.’”
According to Harris, Bill Clinton’s exact words were: “Oh my God, I’m so relieved. Send me anywhere.”
Rewriting History, Eyeing the Future
The memoir casts the 2024 race as the “closest election of the century,” even as Donald Trump returned to power and now governs from the Oval Office in his second term. Harris insists her near-miss proves America is ready for a female president.
“I reject this idea that the country isn’t ready for a woman,” she told the crowd. “We were closer than the pundits will ever admit.”
A Clinton Comeback?
The Clintons’ renewed spotlight has Democrats buzzing. While Biden retreats from public life, Harris has positioned herself as a bridge to the party’s future—and as a Clinton favorite. “We have so many stars,” she said, naming younger Democrats she claims could challenge Trump in 2028.
Hillary Clinton has not publicly commented on Harris’ version of events, but sources close to the former first couple tell reporters the Clintons “felt duty-bound” to stop Trump’s return in 2024.
Whether Harris’ alliance with the Clintons strengthens her legacy—or deepens Democratic fractures—remains to be seen.

USA may be ready for a woman president, but not a Democrat, and not KamalToe!
Nobody is “challenging Trump in 2028”, he’s not running…
Even better for USA Vance and maybe some others will be running…
