Plane Narrowly Dodges Cars After Emergency Landing on Busy Street (Video)

Against all odds, both people on board — a flight instructor and a student — walked away completely unscathed.

Police dashcam footage captured the surreal moment the aircraft touched down right in the middle of the roadway, sending drivers into shock as the plane rolled to a stop just feet from danger.

Witnesses couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

“I came outside, and next thing you know, there’s a plane sitting here underneath this traffic light,” said local mechanic Nick Pusch. “He must have landed just before hitting those power lines. It could’ve been so much worse.”

And that’s exactly what first responders were bracing for.

Mesa Fire officials said they were preparing for a catastrophic scene when the call first came in — but what they found instead felt almost miraculous.

“We prepare for the worst, but today was just an amazing outcome,” Mesa Fire Capt. Brian Davie said. “No cars wrecked. No injuries. That’s incredible.”

As stunned onlookers gathered, quick-thinking bystanders and responders helped push the intact plane off the street and into a nearby parking lot while crews shut down traffic for about an hour to clear the scene.

The aircraft is registered to Venture West Airline Pilot Academy, based out of Falcon Field. Owner David Lines praised the pilots’ calm reaction under pressure, saying everything “aligned perfectly” to avoid tragedy.

Still, the terrifying incident is just the latest in a string of alarming aviation scares across Arizona.
