President Donald Trump lit up Truth Social in a fiery tirade Wednesday after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky rejected his proposed peace agreement with Russia—an offer Trump insisted was Ukraine’s last chance to end the war.

The former president didn’t hold back, accusing Zelensky of playing games with global security and throwing away what he called “the only real path to peace.”

“Zelensky has no cards to play. He’s risking the future of his country just to look tough,” Trump wrote. “He can have peace now—or watch Ukraine crumble while begging for help.”

Trump’s “Final Offer” Falls Flat

Last week, Trump personally offered Ukraine a controversial deal that would’ve recognized Crimea as Russian territory, effectively ending any chance of NATO membership for Ukraine. In return, Russia would freeze its current military advances.

Trump pitched it as a “realistic solution.” Zelensky called it “unconstitutional surrender.”

“There is no legal ground for us to accept the theft of our land,” Zelensky told reporters Wednesday. “We will not be forced into giving up our sovereignty to please any foreign power—friend or foe.”

That rejection sent Trump into a social media meltdown.

“Obama Lost Crimea—Not Me!”

On Truth Social, Trump laid blame on former President Barack Obama for Russia’s 2014 annexation of Crimea, arguing the issue should no longer be part of peace negotiations.

“Crimea was lost under Obama. Everyone knows that. It’s history,” Trump posted. “Zelensky is making this harder than it needs to be. He’s looking for applause when he should be looking for peace.”

He accused Zelensky of fueling the conflict out of pride, not strategy. “Ukraine’s position is collapsing. He can make a deal now—or spend three more years fighting before losing it all,” Trump wrote.

Trump’s Allies Talk Tough, But Critics See Mixed Signals

While Trump has publicly distanced himself from Putin in recent weeks—calling the Russian president a “strongman dictator”—his critics say his policies have done little to pressure the Kremlin.

“He’s talking tough, but where’s the follow-through?” asked a former national security advisor. “Trump’s not confronting Russia—he’s trying to broker a deal that benefits them.”

Indeed, Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff is expected to meet Putin again in St. Petersburg on Friday, amid rumors of a new ceasefire plan. But so far, those talks have produced little more than vague promises and broken truces.

Putin recently agreed to a so-called 30-hour ceasefire last weekend—only to violate it within hours, launching fresh missile strikes across eastern Ukraine.

Rubio: “We’re Close to Walking Away”

Behind the scenes, frustrations inside Trump’s team are boiling over.

“We’ve hit a wall,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio said last week. “We’re close to the point where we just walk away from this whole thing. If Ukraine can’t take yes for an answer, then maybe it’s time to let the chips fall.”

Zelensky’s top aide Andriy Yermak fired back, calling the Trump peace plan “a smokescreen” for Russian manipulation.

“Russia won’t accept an unconditional ceasefire. They want to freeze the war, regroup, and strike again. We won’t be tricked into surrender.”

Trump Warns Ukraine: “This Was the Last Shot”

In one of his sharpest posts, Trump warned that his offer won’t be repeated.

“We gave them the best deal they’ll ever get. If they don’t take it, they’re fools. And if this drags on—it’s on them,” he said.

As Trump eyes a return to the White House in 2025, his promise to end the Ukraine war “on day one” is under intense scrutiny. With Zelensky’s rejection, that promise now looks more distant than ever.

Still, Trump remains defiant.

“I tried to fix it. I gave them a real path forward. But if they want to throw that away—don’t blame me when the country falls.”

For now, Ukraine isn’t budging. And neither is Trump.

  1. I think more of Zelensky than I do of trump. trump needs to be standing up for Ukraine, instead of kissing Putin’s butt. They are our #1 or #2 communist threat and trump is siding with them. What is wrong with the fool ? Ukraine just wants to be free and NOT under communist rule and trump won’t help them ! trump is a sorry president !

    1. Ukrainians need to rise up and overthrow the fool Zelensky! He was used by Obummer, Jokementia, and the NAZI Europeans, he’s all used up. Toss him and end the war.

  2. The continued lack of a united plan for peace in Ukraine by the U.S. political right and left gives the Ukraine president the political power/reason to not negotiate. Those that support war, support Ukraine. They do not support the people of Ukraine for the Ukraine people have not voted to support this war. There seems to be clear evidence that those who support the war are those that have used the country to further their own wealth and promote further killing. There needs to be an election in Ukraine to find out what the people of Ukraine want, not what the United States or any NATO allies wants for the country.

  3. Trump is siding with Putin regardless. Will America continue support for Ukraine militarily & Financially ?Sent from my T-Mobile 4G LTE Device

  4. Nothing new Trump will support Putin on all occasions sad but trueSent from my T-Mobile 4G LTE Device
