WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Trump is inviting Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky back to the White House. The announcement comes on the heels of a 30‑day ceasefire deal that stops all missile, drone, and bomb attacks along Ukraine’s front—if, and only if, Russia gives its blessing.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that late-night talks in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia forged the deal. “Today, we made an offer that the Ukrainians have accepted,” Rubio said. “Now, the ball is in Russia’s court.”

A senior official added, “This isn’t just about pausing the fight. It’s about setting a new stage for enduring peace.”

Trump’s White House press briefing was unapologetically blunt. “I want peace,” he declared. “But America will never be shortchanged. If Russia steps up, we move forward—if not, no deal.”

In a post on Truth Social, Trump lashed out: “He disrespected the United States in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for peace.”

For weeks, Trump has criticized Zelensky for what he calls a lack of genuine commitment to peace. Earlier, the former president accused Zelensky of playing games with U.S. support and even labeled him a “dictator.”

A GOP insider noted, “Trump isn’t afraid to say what needs to be said. His tough stance is exactly what American security demands.”

Zelensky’s team confirmed that both nations agreed to fast-track talks to tap Ukraine’s critical mineral resources. “Now, it is up to the United States to convince Russia to do the same,” Zelensky stated on X.

The ceasefire is immediate—pending Russian agreement—and is designed to give both sides a 30-day break to work on a lasting solution.

Trump has already warned Russian President Putin. Last week, he said he was “strongly considering” sanctions if Moscow refuses to cooperate.

“This is a high-stakes game,” one White House official commented. “We are putting American interests first, and we expect the same in return.”

As tensions simmer and global eyes turn toward Moscow, the next few days will be crucial. Trump’s latest maneuver is a daring bid to reset a long-standing conflict—one that could redefine America’s role in international peace efforts.
