First Lady Melania Trump is making a major financial move, securing a $40 million deal with Amazon for a documentary detailing her life.
The project, set for release later this year, will include a feature-length film along with a multi-episode follow-up docuseries. Melania, who will serve as executive producer, is expected to personally take home at least $28 million from the deal.
Monetizing the Spotlight
Sources close to the project reveal that beyond the hefty payout, Melania is actively seeking additional revenue streams. Corporate sponsors are being courted, with blue-chip CEOs reportedly offered a coveted name-drop at the end of the film—for a minimum price tag of $10 million. As an extra incentive, sponsors will receive exclusive invitations to the documentary’s premiere event.
While Melania has largely stayed out of her husband’s latest political campaign, she continues to leverage her platform for personal ventures, having recently launched a line of Christmas ornaments and jewelry.
Bezos and Trump: A Complicated History
This high-profile collaboration between Melania and Amazon comes at a time when relations between the Trump family and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos appear to be evolving. In his first term, Donald Trump was openly critical of Bezos, particularly regarding coverage by The Washington Post, which Bezos owns. However, recent reports suggest Bezos and Trump may be warming up to each other. The tech billionaire recently met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago and pledged a $1 million donation to the former president’s inaugural fund.
Political analysts speculate that Bezos’ shift in stance may be driven by business interests, as Amazon seeks to maintain a favorable position under a potential Trump return to the White House.
Melania’s Journey to the White House
Born in Slovenia as Melanija Knauss, she immigrated to the United States in 1996 to pursue a modeling career in New York City. Two years later, she crossed paths with Donald Trump at a Fashion Week party. Recalling their first interaction, Melania once said: “I am not giving you my number; you give me yours, and I will call you.” She eventually reached out, and the two began dating.
Their relationship had its ups and downs, but in 2004, Donald proposed with a 15-carat diamond engagement ring at the Met Gala. They tied the knot in Palm Beach in 2005, celebrating with a lavish reception at Mar-a-Lago.
From First Lady to Media Mogul?
Melania has consistently avoided the harsh glare of political scrutiny, opting instead to build her own brand. While her public appearances on Donald’s campaign trail have been rare, she has remained active in carefully curated ventures.
With this Amazon deal, she is stepping back into the limelight—but on her own terms. Whether this signals a broader shift in her public presence remains to be seen. What is clear, however, is that Melania Trump continues to prove she can turn her image into a lucrative enterprise.
