Hollywood icon Tom Hanks has reignited health concerns among fans following a much-anticipated appearance on “Saturday Night Live”. The two-time Academy Award-winning actor, now 68, joined the star-studded cast to support host Martin Short in a special episode celebrating the Five-Timers Club.

Reflecting on his diagnosis, Hanks shared, “I went to the doctor, and he said, ‘You know those high blood sugar numbers you’ve been dealing with since you were 36? Well, you graduated! You’ve got Type 2 diabetes, young man.’”

The actor has since spoken candidly about his health journey. In a 2013 interview with the Radio Times, Hanks admitted to neglecting his health earlier in life. “I’m part of the lazy American generation that has blindly kept dancing through the party and now finds ourselves with a malady,” he said. “I was heavy. You’ve seen me in movies; you know what I looked like. I thought I could avoid it by removing the buns from my cheeseburgers.”

While some fans have jumped to defend the “Forrest Gump” star, noting that slight tremors are common with aging, others have speculated about his ongoing health. “Considering he’s almost 70! Yeah, older people’s hands tend to shake a little,” one social media user wrote. Another chimed in, “He’s diabetic. This happens to my mom when she gets low blood sugar.”

Hanks’ representative has yet to respond to the recent concerns.
