Meghan Markle is being blasted again over her fractured relationship with her father after the 81-year-old reportedly returned to the United States following a devastating leg amputation — and insiders claim the Duchess of Sussex still has “no plans” to see him.

Thomas Markle, Meghan’s estranged father, recently moved back from the Philippines after suffering a serious medical emergency that led to a below-the-knee amputation late last year. According to reports, the former Hollywood lighting director is now focused on rehabilitation and being fitted with a high-tech prosthetic leg as concerns grow over his declining health.

But despite the heartbreaking situation, sources claim there’s still no sign of a family reunion.

The former Suits star, who cut ties with her father ahead of her royal wedding to Prince Harry in 2018, is once again facing criticism from royal watchers who believe “time is running out” for the family to reconcile.

“People are shocked by how distant things still are,” one insider reportedly claimed. “Thomas is elderly, he’s gone through a life-changing surgery, and yet there’s still no personal contact or reconciliation.”

The source added that many see the situation as “the most brutal family move Meghan has ever made.”

Thomas had been living quietly in Cebu in the Philippines in a modest apartment reportedly costing around $600 a month. During his time overseas, he was cared for by his son, Thomas Markle Jr., while dealing with a series of health problems.

After complications from a dangerous blood clot cut off circulation to his foot, Thomas underwent emergency surgery in December 2025 that resulted in the amputation of part of his leg.

Now back in America, he’s said to be focused on recovery, including getting an electric wheelchair and eventually learning to walk again with a prosthetic limb.

“The next stage is to get an electric wheelchair and then a prosthetic leg,” Thomas previously said.

The heartbreaking health battle has reignited public interest in the bitter father-daughter fallout that has dragged on for years.

Thomas has repeatedly expressed hope that he and Meghan could reconnect someday — especially since he has never met his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet.

Following his surgery, reports claimed Meghan privately “reached out” by sending a letter to his hospital bedside through embassy officials. But critics say the gesture has done little to repair the damage, especially since no face-to-face meeting has happened.

Adding another emotional layer to the story, Thomas reportedly formed a close bond with a nurse named Rio Canedo while recovering in the Philippines. The 46-year-old caregiver helped him through some of his darkest days and even accompanied him to the airport before his return to the U.S.

Now, with Thomas continuing rehab and trying to rebuild his life after the traumatic operation, royal insiders say many people are wondering whether Meghan will ever reconcile with her father before it’s too late.

“One thing people keep saying is that time is becoming a real factor,” a source claimed. “That’s why the silence feels even colder now.”
