Even from her sickbed, Dolly Parton refuses to slow down. The country icon, 79, is still hustling behind the scenes — despite serious health setbacks that have friends begging her to finally rest.
Sources tell RadarOnline.com that the 9 to 5 legend has been “pushing herself too hard” after being sidelined by a painful infection linked to kidney stones. Doctors ordered her to take it easy, but Dolly’s already back to juggling Dollywood, her merch empire, and her fashion line from home.
“Dolly doesn’t know how to sit still,” one insider spilled. “She’s been calling staff, checking in on friends, even brainstorming new projects. It’s just who she is — but people around her are terrified she’s overdoing it.”
The past year has been brutal for the country queen. Dolly lost her beloved husband, Carl Dean, in March after nearly 60 years of marriage. Friends say his death left her heartbroken — and throwing herself into nonstop work to cope with the grief.
“She was running herself into the ground even before she got sick,” another source shared. “Now she’s doing it again. Unless she learns to really slow down, this could be dangerous.”
Fans got a glimpse of Dolly’s unstoppable spirit in October when her official Instagram hyped the return of her denim line with the caption, “New season, new styles … Dolly’s Joleans are back and better than ever.”
But behind the sparkle, those close to her say there’s growing concern that the 79-year-old star is “climbing the walls” with frustration and ignoring medical advice.
“She’s used to being in control — of her business, her brand, her life,” a friend explained. “But at this point, the best thing she could do is rest. Everyone just wants her to be okay.”
