Did Meghan Markle accidentally debut an allegedly stolen designer dress in her new Netflix promo — or is this another royal-style scandal in the making?
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, just dropped a glamorous new trailer for her upcoming holiday special With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration (streaming December 3), but fans were quick to notice something very familiar about her outfit — that $1,695 emerald-green Galvan “Ushuaia” gown.
It’s the same one-shouldered stunner she wore in her 2022 Variety photoshoot… the very same shoot at the center of an eyebrow-raising rumor that she never returned the designer wardrobe pieces afterward.
According to journalist Vanessa Grigoriadis, Markle “did not return a lot of stuff” after that high-profile shoot. Speaking on the Heretics podcast in 2024, Grigoriadis claimed the Duchess “wore it in a very high-profile photo shoot” and then never sent the items back.
“What’s shocking,” Grigoriadis said, “is that someone living in a $15 million mansion in Montecito, who’s signed $100 million deals, would care enough to take home some jewelry and clothes from a photo shoot that she can clearly afford.”
Ouch.
In the newly released promo, Markle is seen setting a lavishly decorated Christmas table, smiling beside Prince Harry, and gushing, “I love the holiday season. It’s about finding time to connect with the people we love, embracing traditions and making new ones.”
It’s all picture-perfect — until the internet realized her holiday sparkle might come with a hint of controversy.
Neither Markle nor her reps have commented on the resurfaced allegations.
But as one user joked on X, “Nothing says holiday cheer like wearing your ‘borrowed forever’ dress on Netflix.”
With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration premieres December 3 on Netflix.
