Prince Harry is reportedly in turmoil over the safety of his children and questioning everything about his post-royal life in California.
The Duke of Sussex, who left the UK in 2020 with Meghan Markle to start a new chapter in Montecito, is now feeling deep regret as chaos brews near his home, according to insiders.
While the royal family gathered in London for the Trooping the Colour celebration, Harry stayed behind in California, where anti-monarchy protests and violent unrest broke out nearby. Cars were torched, stores looted, and residents injured — a scene that left the prince shaken.
“He’s starting to wonder if he made a huge mistake,” one insider told New Idea. “Seeing his family smiling at a national celebration while violence unfolded just miles from his house really shook him. With two young kids to protect, he’s rethinking everything.”
As LA burned, Meghan tried to lighten the mood by posting a sentimental Father’s Day video showing never-before-seen footage of Harry with Archie and Lilibet. It was the first time the couple publicly showed their children’s faces — a move that baffled Harry, given the timing.
“It was meant as a gift, but he was stunned,” the insider added. “This was one of the most violent weekends in recent memory, and Meghan decided to show the kids’ faces to the world. He knows she meant well, but the timing was terrible. He’s now thinking the only way to truly keep them safe is to get out of LA.”
The growing fear has revived Harry’s long-running battle over security. When he stepped back from his royal duties, he lost his taxpayer-funded protection — and he’s been fighting to get it back ever since.
His lawsuit against the UK government was rejected in May 2025, a blow that left him “devastated,” he told the BBC.
“I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point,” he said, citing the risks without police protection.
Though he may not be ready to return to the UK full-time, sources say Harry is seriously considering leaving Los Angeles — possibly for a quieter, safer location. For a man who once hoped to start fresh in sunny California, the dream is quickly becoming a nightmare.

The story is a laugh. He is afraid to go to England for safety reasons but California has been and is in turmoil with illegals. Burning fires and people protesting and ranting and looting and his imaginative kids he is worried about?

He was too caught up in sibling rivalry to consider the long term consequences of his actions. Jealous of Prince William from day 1, his older brother got the bigger bedrooms the lion’s share of the food, according to his book Spare, etc. etc. Somehow I seriously doubt that Harry was left with table scraps for dinner growing up. Prince William was and is older, as they were growing up it took more food to feed him.
