Meghan Markle is facing backlash once again — this time over the launch date of her latest business venture.

The former actress-turned-entrepreneur is being ripped apart online for choosing July 1 to debut her first-ever wine. That date, of course, would have been Princess Diana’s 64th birthday.

Critics have slammed the decision as tone-deaf, tasteless, and even creepy.

Markle’s lifestyle brand As Ever restocked products on Friday, June 20, and teased its next big offering — a Napa Valley rosé set to debut July 1 at 8 a.m. PT. “Cheers, dears!” she wrote on Instagram. “You’ve certainly made our weekend wonderful. We sold out… again!” The wine is described as having “soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality and a lasting finish.”

But it’s the date that has people fuming.

Princess Diana was born on July 1, 1961. She died tragically in 1997 after a car crash in Paris — a crash involving a drunk driver. The irony wasn’t lost on social media, where users were quick to blast Meghan’s launch timing.

“It debuts on Princess Diana’s birthday because Meghan is stalking her dead mother-in-law,” one user posted. “Super creepy, but not unexpected from this grifter.”

Another wrote, “Launching on her late MIL’s birthday, who died because of a drunk driver… This is just disgusting.” Others called the move “tacky” and “shameless marketing.”

The criticism doesn’t stop there.

Even before the wine announcement, Markle’s As Ever brand was under fire for the quality of its products. After releasing an apricot spread earlier this year, food experts didn’t hold back. One called it “a disappointment” and suggested it was just a failed jam. Another noted the use of pesticides and questioned why the product needed pectin, saying that only poorly made spreads require it.

Back in April, Meghan claimed her first product drop sold out within half an hour — but royal experts weren’t impressed. One branded the launch a joke, calling it “the oldest marketing trick in the book” and mocked the website for only offering around ten items.

The upcoming wine launch may drum up buzz, but not for the reasons Meghan was hoping. Critics say this is yet another example of her trying to tie herself to the royal legacy — even when it feels wildly inappropriate.

  1. This girl will do ANYTHING to get attention. She has ruined Harry’s life and hurt the royal family. Too bad Harry ever married this hair brained stupid woman.
