Celebrity hairstylist Jenn Lagron is facing a long and painful recovery after being struck by a drunk driver while walking this past weekend. Known for her work with stars like Chrissy Teigen, Hayley Kiyoko, and Ellie Goulding, Lagron now finds herself battling devastating injuries that could keep her from doing what she loves most.

The accident occurred on Sunday, April 27, and news of the incident quickly spread after fashion designer Kristin Juszczyk shared an emotional update on Instagram. “My girl @jennlagron was hit by a drunk driver last night. Sick to my stomach,” she wrote alongside a video of Lagron doing her hair. “She is the most amazing person and incredibly talented hair artist. She’s going to have a long road to recovery so truly anything will help.”

Lagron’s close friend Brandon Pietsch set up a GoFundMe page, revealing the extent of her injuries. Among them is a severely damaged arm—an especially heartbreaking blow for someone who relies on that very arm for her livelihood. “While we are endlessly grateful that Jenn survived, her road to recovery will be long and incredibly difficult,” the campaign reads.

Doctors have told Lagron’s family and friends that she faces at least a year of rehabilitation. She’ll be unable to work during that time, and the financial strain is expected to be significant. The GoFundMe highlights the need to support Lagron through this period, helping cover mounting medical bills, rent, physical therapy, and basic living expenses.

“Jenn has always been a light in the lives of everyone around her—full of heart, creativity, and kindness,” the page adds. “Any contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world to Jenn. Even just sharing this page helps immensely.”

Later that same day, Pietsch shared an update that Lagron had just come out of surgery to repair a broken vertebra. “It was successful with no complications,” he wrote. “The doctors weren’t able to fix her arm today, so she’ll be having another surgery tomorrow to address that.” He added that her broken artery was showing signs of healing, and she is currently being monitored in the ICU.

As of Monday, April 28, the campaign had raised over $43,000 of its $60,000 goal—an outpouring of support that reflects how beloved Lagron is within her industry and beyond. In addition to Juszczyk, Lagron has worked with several celebrity clients, including NFL star George Kittle’s wife Claire, and pop singer Ellie Goulding.

In a 2023 interview with The House magazine, Lagron spoke lovingly about her clients and her passion for her craft. “I truly feel like I have the most incredible clients who make me strive to be my best, not only professionally but personally as well,” she said. “I am so beyond grateful for them, and they hold such a special place in my heart.”

Now, her community is showing up for her in a big way. If you’d like to contribute or learn more, the GoFundMe for Jenn Lagron remains active.
