In a stunning turn of events, New York Attorney General Letitia James, known for her relentless pursuit of President Donald Trump, is now facing allegations of mortgage fraud herself. The Trump administration’s Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) has officially referred James to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for potential prosecution, accusing her of falsifying crucial mortgage documents.

FHFA Director William Pulte detailed the accusations in a scathing letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi. According to Pulte, James allegedly listed a Virginia property as her primary residence, despite serving as an elected official required to reside in New York. Additionally, she is accused of deliberately misrepresenting a New York property as having fewer units to secure favorable loan terms.

Jonathan Turley, renowned legal analyst and Fox News contributor, addressed the accusations on “The Ingraham Angle,” noting the dramatic irony in James’ predicament:

“This is a person who prosecuted Trump for everything short of ripping a label off a mattress,” Turley remarked. “Applying her own standards against her leaves very little doubt—this seems pretty straightforward. Either it’s your principal residence or it’s not. Either you’re married to your father or he’s your father.”

The allegations also include troubling details from mortgage filings, where James reportedly listed her father as her husband in documents dating back to 1983 and 2000. Retired NYPD inspector Paul Mauro, who initially broke the story on his Substack weeks ago, emphasized the gravity of the charges:

“The documents presented appear entirely authentic. AG James seems to have committed the exact fraud she publicly condemned in her high-profile cases against Trump. Now we’ll see if Ms. James truly believes her own claim—that nobody is above the law.”

James’ office responded fiercely, dismissing the allegations as politically motivated:

“Attorney General James remains focused on protecting New Yorkers. She will not be intimidated by bullies—no matter who they are,” her spokesperson stated.

This controversy comes after James aggressively prosecuted President Trump, resulting in a massive $454 million civil fraud judgment against him—currently under appeal. Her legal actions have drawn sharp criticism from conservative circles, with some viewing her pursuit of Trump as politically charged persecution.

As the DOJ reviews these damning allegations, Americans will be watching closely to see if Letitia James faces the same rigorous scrutiny she has applied to her political adversaries.

  1. Trump will never allow an Our democracy had a good run but we have allowed a dictator to take over. He will never allow objection within his dictatorship, so she had to go. That is how dictatorships are run. I do wonder if we will ever again have a “fair” election?

  2. So she prosecutes Trump for giving his opinion on the worth of his collateral which the bank will have independently appraised.
She, on the other hand, stated in writing that she was going to occupy a home in VA as her primary residence in order to obtain a lower rate and most likely to be even eligible for that particular loan program as well as stating her father was her husband. These are the very definition of fraud. Most mortgage programs that require you to occupy a home like this also have major penalties for vacating within 2 years or selling. I’m sure she paid neither.
