President-elect Donald Trump launched his inauguration weekend in true Trump fashion—bold, patriotic, and unapologetically grand. Surrounded by family, friends, and loyal supporters, Trump watched an elaborate fireworks display at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia, on Saturday evening.
The celebration, held for over 500 guests, began with live entertainment, including a performance by an Elvis Presley impersonator. As the sky darkened, the party reached its peak just before 10 p.m. when colorful fireworks illuminated the winter night. Standing side by side with his wife, Melania, Trump applauded as the pyrotechnics erupted above.
Trump, dressed in his signature navy suit and red tie, appeared jubilant. “Tonight marks the beginning of a historic journey,” he told guests during a brief address. “Together, we’re going to bring greatness back to our nation.” Melania Trump, wearing an elegant cream-colored gown, smiled warmly as she greeted attendees.
The Trump family was out in full force. Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Ivanka Trump, and Tiffany Trump joined their father at the event, along with their spouses and children. Eric Trump, holding hands with wife Lara, was seen sharing a laugh as their children marveled at the light show.
“It’s a proud moment for our family,” Eric Trump said. “Dad’s always been about putting America first, and this weekend is just the beginning.”
Prominent conservative figures mingled with supporters throughout the evening. Cabinet nominees Pete Hegseth and Lee Zeldin were spotted chatting with guests. Attendees enjoyed a lavish spread of gourmet dishes, champagne, and desserts emblazoned with the iconic “Make America Great Again” logo.
Margo Martin, a senior aide to Trump, shared photos of the festivities on X (formerly Twitter), captioning one: “An unforgettable evening for an unforgettable leader.”
Not one to shy away from public commentary, Trump took to Truth Social during the evening, criticizing New York Attorney General Letitia James and her ongoing legal case against him. “What is going on with this totally corrupt New York judge?” he posted, adding, “New York courts must be investigated!”
Later, a video shared by Trump’s team captured the President-elect performing his signature dance moves—a moment that brought cheers and laughter from the crowd.
The weekend’s festivities are far from over. On Sunday, Trump is scheduled to lay a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery, honoring America’s fallen heroes.
“It’s a tradition I hold dear,” Trump said earlier this week. “We must never forget the sacrifices made for our freedoms.”
A “Make America Great Again Victory Rally” is planned for Sunday evening at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. Tens of thousands are expected to attend.
On Monday, Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States. For the first time in over 40 years, the ceremony will take place inside the Capitol Rotunda due to unusually cold weather. The event promises to be a fitting culmination to a weekend full of spectacle and symbolism.
As fireworks lit up the night sky in Virginia, one thing was clear: Donald Trump’s return to the White House is already making waves. For supporters, it’s the beginning of a new chapter—one they hope will deliver on promises of strength, prosperity, and unity.
