Mooresville, IN — An 18-year-old Indiana high school student has been arrested for allegedly plotting a mass shooting at Mooresville High School on Valentine’s Day, mirroring the 2018 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
Alarming Plot Discovered
Authorities say Trinity J. Shockley, who identifies as a transgender man and also goes by Jamie or Dex, was taken into custody after an FBI tip led to a search of Shockley’s home. Investigators uncovered disturbing evidence, including a “shrine” to past mass shooters, a collection of violent writings, and social media messages detailing plans for what Shockley reportedly called “Parkland Part Two.”
According to court documents, Shockley was fascinated by notorious mass shooters, including Parkland gunman Nikolas Cruz. The 18-year-old allegedly owned a bulletproof vest and had access to an AR-15 rifle, items investigators believe were intended for the attack.
Morgan County Sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant at Shockley’s home on Wednesday, where they found walls adorned with images of mass murderers, including Dylann Roof and Ethan Crumbley. They also discovered a collection of buttons and memorabilia featuring these individuals. Notebooks filled with violent thoughts and plans for the attack were seized as evidence.
Disturbing Messages and Online Activity
Authorities say Shockley’s digital footprint provided further evidence of the planned attack. Shockley allegedly used the username “Crazy Nikolaz” on the messaging platform Discord and detailed the intent to target students during lunch, when the cafeteria would be most crowded.
In a chilling exchange on January 12, 2025, Shockley reportedly told an online associate:
Jamie: “Yeah. I’ll be honest. I’m close to shooting mine up. I have an AR-15.” TCC Mama: “OMD that’s so cool!! But wait, do you have a solid plan??” Jamie: “Parkland part two. Of course. I’ve been planning this for a YEAR.” TCC Mama: “You don’t plan on killing yourself right??” Jamie: “No.” TCC Mama: “Okay good. Your secret is safe with me bro. Kids are awful. And if you do carry it out, good luck.”
Authorities believe Shockley intended to maximize casualties during the attack and was motivated by a deep-seated obsession with school shooters.
Suspect’s Troubled History
Court records reveal that Shockley had previously expressed homicidal thoughts and a desire to harm others. In a journal entry dated December 16, 2024, Shockley wrote:
“These thoughts never seem to stop. You may believe that I am some edgelord, but in reality, I am just a loser… I hope whoever reads this takes acknowledgment and maybe use it for your massacre.”
Further writings from January describe a desire to “wipe people away from humanity.”
During an interview with police, Shockley initially claimed the comments were made in jest. “I wanted to recreate what Cruz did, but I would never actually do anything like that,” Shockley reportedly told investigators. “It was said out of rage. I’m trying to get help.”
Mental Health Concerns and Family Issues
Authorities noted that Shockley had previously sought mental health assistance but was allegedly denied help by a parent. According to school officials, Shockley’s father “did not believe in mental health treatment.”
Shockley also suffered a traumatic brain injury in 2022 after being struck by a suspected drunk driver, Michael Simpson, who later died by suicide before his criminal case was resolved. Investigators say Shockley expressed feelings of guilt over Simpson’s death.
Community Response
Mooresville Schools Superintendent Jake Allen praised law enforcement for their swift action. “Our schools should always be a place of safety, learning, and belonging,” Allen stated. “We are committed to doing everything in our power to keep our schools safe.”
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing. Shockley is currently being held without bond at the Morgan County Jail.

Loust reporting. I see no need to stress this student\’s gender identification. Perhaps to point out he is deeply in need of counseling. This is another case where our overly availability of firearms makes a crazy person potentially dangerous. This student must have exhibited anti-social behavior while in school.
