Former Vice President Kamala Harris made an appearance at a Los Angeles Lakers game on Thursday night, but the reaction from the crowd was anything but warm. Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, arrived without much fanfare, taking seats far from the action—far from the VIP courtside section where political elites and celebrities typically sit.
Social media erupted with reactions to her presence, or rather, the lack of interest in it. “Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff arrive at the Lakers game. Pretty much nobody cared,” one user posted on X, summing up the general sentiment. Another quipped, “She’s sitting in the cheap seats. Should’ve saved some of that campaign money.”
While Harris made an effort to wave and smile at attendees, video footage showed that few people even turned to acknowledge her. The scene stood in stark contrast to the enthusiastic crowds she once claimed to draw on the campaign trail.
“This just proves how unpopular she really is,” said David Lockhart, a retired businessman from Orange County. “The media tried to sell us on her being the future of the Democratic Party, but the people clearly aren’t buying it.”
The former VP and her husband were ultimately seated in front of a broadcast booth, rather than the high-profile sections where former presidents and influential figures are typically placed. Many took it as another sign of her dwindling influence.
Political analyst Mark Peterson noted, “Harris has struggled to maintain relevance since leaving office. The Democratic establishment sidelined her, and now it seems the public has moved on as well.”
Even as the Lakers squared off against the Golden State Warriors in a thrilling matchup featuring LeBron James and Stephen Curry, it was clear that Harris’s presence didn’t add to the spectacle. If anything, it underscored how far she has fallen from the political spotlight.
For a politician once touted as the future of her party, Thursday night’s game was just another reminder that the excitement surrounding her was always more media-driven than genuine.

Wonder how much money US citizens payed out for her luxury while she wanted US citizen’s in prison? I recall illegals came first with thugs. What a joke she is. Con artist to tee. Ask her what real reason for trips to countries where prisons were emptied and flown in to US afterwards. If I recall right those countries received millions of US citizens dollars during her visits.
