A shocking new twist has rocked the long shadow of Jeffrey Epstein — and this time, it’s turned deadly.

Edward Juul Rod-Larsen, the 25-year-old son of prominent Norwegian diplomats, has died by suicide just days after authorities launched a fresh investigation into his parents’ alleged links to the disgraced financier. The young man, who was reportedly named in Epstein’s will for a staggering $5 million, was found dead on April 29, sending shockwaves through elite political circles in Europe.

The timing has raised eyebrows. Norwegian officials had recently opened a probe into Edward’s parents, Terje Rod-Larsen and Mona Juul, after new revelations surfaced tying them more closely to Epstein’s network. The scrutiny intensified after it was revealed that both Edward and his twin sister Emma were each set to receive $5 million from Epstein’s estate — the same amount left to his infamous associate Ghislaine Maxwell.

In a somber statement, the family’s attorneys pushed back against speculation surrounding the tragedy.

“This has unfolded under months of relentless public attention that has gone far beyond reasonable scrutiny,” lawyers Thomas Skjelbred and John Christian Elden said. “Speculating on connections is both irresponsible and undignified. Suicide is complex — there is never a single explanation.”

Still, the controversy surrounding the family continues to deepen.

Mona Juul, a former Norwegian ambassador, stepped down from her diplomatic post earlier this year amid backlash over her past contact with Epstein. She has insisted those interactions were “private and sporadic” and unrelated to her official duties.

But newly surfaced documents from the so-called Epstein files have painted a more troubling picture. According to reports, Terje Rod-Larsen allegedly wrote letters to U.S. authorities supporting visa applications for young Russian women linked to Epstein. Financial records also revealed Epstein ordered a $250,000 payment to the diplomat in 2015.

Authorities in Norway have since launched a criminal investigation into the couple for suspected aggravated corruption, with French officials also joining the inquiry. Both Rod-Larsen and Juul have denied any wrongdoing.

Despite the millions promised in Epstein’s will, sources say Edward and his sister had not received any of the money before his death.

Even years after his 2019 jailhouse death, Epstein’s web of connections continues to ensnare powerful figures — and destroy lives along the way.

The scandal has even brushed up against American political circles. Earlier this month, First Lady Melania Trump forcefully rejected rumors linking her past to Epstein.

“I am not Epstein’s victim,” she said during a rare public statement, also denying claims that Epstein introduced her to Donald Trump. “These defamatory statements must stop.”

As investigators dig deeper into Epstein’s far-reaching network, the fallout shows no signs of slowing — and for one young man caught in its orbit, the consequences proved devastating.
