Eric Dickerson is stirring the pot again — and this time he’s coming for both Bad Bunny and the NFL.
The Hall of Fame running back doubled down on his fiery criticism of the Super Bowl halftime pick, telling TMZ Sports he still wants the global megastar nowhere near Sunday’s show. Dickerson has been railing against the decision for days, saying he’d prefer “literally anyone else” and that Benito should “keep his ass where he’s at” in Puerto Rico.
So when cameras caught him at the San Jose airport ahead of the big game, the question came quick. Had he softened his stance?
“Hell no. Absolutely not, man,” he shot back. “Why can’t we get somebody from right here? We’re in San Francisco. There are artists everywhere who could play the Super Bowl.”
Dickerson then wondered whether a Spanish-language performance even makes sense for the NFL’s main stage.
“He speaks English,” he said. “I don’t know if it’s going to be in Spanish or whatever. What sense does that make?”
The former Rams star didn’t stop there. He waded straight into controversy by saying he doesn’t view Puerto Rico the same as the mainland U.S., though he insisted he has no issue with the island itself.
Then he took aim at the NFL’s leadership — and he did not hold back.
Dickerson slammed the league’s long-criticized diversity efforts, calling the Rooney Rule “a freaking joke” and arguing that Black coaches are still being shut out of the most coveted jobs. “You can’t make a person hire a Black coach,” he said. “Owners are going to do what they want. You feel comfortable with who looks like you sometimes.”
And for the finale, he torched the league he once played for. “They’ll do anything for money,” he said. “As an entity, the NFL is one of the most corrupt organizations there is.”
In short, Eric Dickerson isn’t backing down — he’s just turning up the volume.
