Conservative commentator Tim Pool says gunfire shattered the peace outside his Maryland compound just hours after a controversial podcast episode discussed rumors surrounding the late activist Charlie Kirk and his wife, Erika.
Pool, 39, known for his Timcast IRL podcast, posted to X on Friday night that a “vehicle approached [his] property and opened fire.”
“No one was hurt,” he wrote. “Our security team is reviewing the incident and will be relaying the report to appropriate law enforcement. This is the price we pay for speaking out against evil.”
He added that he initially thought someone might have been “trying to scare” his crew — but his property’s heavy security may have prevented a more serious attack. “We have a security gate and armed guards,” he said. “It’s possible that deterred something worse.”
The episode in question featured Milo Yiannopoulos, the notorious far-right provocateur once banned from several platforms for inflammatory remarks.
Yiannopoulos reignited conspiracy theories surrounding Charlie Kirk’s shocking assassination earlier this year. He even suggested Kirk might have “faked his own death.”
“There’s something up,” Yiannopoulos said on air. “Look at the photos — the hands, the face. I’m not saying it’s proof, but that doesn’t look like Charlie in that casket.”
He also repeated a claim circulating online that Candace Owens allegedly believed Charlie and Erika “were about to get a divorce.”
Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene reacted swiftly after news of the shooting broke.
“This is terrifying,” Greene posted on X. “I’m glad everyone is okay. Everyone must stand together against this type of political violence and intimidation — no matter who it happens to.”
Authorities have not confirmed Pool’s claims, and no arrests have been announced as of Saturday night. Local law enforcement reportedly responded to the scene and are reviewing surveillance footage.
Ever since Charlie Kirk’s assassination stunned conservative circles earlier this year, conspiracy theories have exploded online. Owens herself fueled many of them — and even claimed French President Emmanuel Macron orchestrated an assassination plot against her.
“As an update, both the White House and our counterterrorism agencies have confirmed receipt of what I reported publicly,” Owens wrote last month. “Emmanuel Macron attempted to organize my assassination.”
She later added: “French legionnaires were involved in Charlie Kirk’s assassination, but they did not act alone.”
Owens’ statements — denied by French officials — have sparked both ridicule and alarm across social media.
Pool said he’s cooperating with investigators and expects a full report “soon.” As of Sunday, he had not shared video evidence of the shooting, but supporters have flooded his comments with concern.
“This country is on the brink,” one user wrote. “If they’re shooting at people for talking, we’re in trouble.”
Pool hasn’t ruled out the idea that the incident was politically motivated — or directly linked to his coverage of the Kirk controversy.
“We talk about dangerous things,” he said in a follow-up stream. “Maybe this was a warning. But I’m not going to shut up.”
