Hollywood legend Sir Michael Caine, 92, made a rare red carpet appearance on Thursday to receive a lifetime achievement award at the Red Sea International Film Festival. The Dark Knight star was seen in a wheelchair, accompanied by longtime friend Vin Diesel and two-time Oscar winner Caine’s grandchildren.
Diesel introduced Caine with heartfelt praise, saying, “Tonight is more special for me personally because I’ve been asked to recognize someone who you all know as one of the best actors who’s ever lived. He’s been somebody that, as Uma Thurman said, could play character roles or main roles, and all the while has more charisma in his finger than most people in Hollywood.” Diesel and Caine previously worked together on the 2015 film The Last Witch Hunter.

Caine looked sharp in a dark jacket, shirt, and tie, while Diesel opted for a similarly sleek look without a tie. The veteran actor, whose career spanned seven decades before he retired in 2023, expressed his gratitude on stage: “Thank you for the welcome. My name is Michael Caine. I’m just so happy to be here. I’ve seen it on television but never won anything here, so I’m happy.”
Fans and fellow festival-goers gave the pair a rapturous reception, celebrating a career that has left an indelible mark on Hollywood.
