John Malkovich has everyone talking — and not for his acting this time.
The 71-year-old Oscar nominee sparked serious concern after a bizarre, slurred interview on Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast left fans fearing for his health.
The episode, filmed in Los Angeles and posted this week, shows Malkovich drifting through stories about his career, his speech slow and his eyes glassy. Listeners say it looked like something was very wrong.
“Everyone noticed it,” one insider told RadarOnline. “His speech was unbelievably slurred. His eyes were glassy — like something was seriously wrong.”
Crew members reportedly whispered backstage that the actor didn’t seem like himself. Some even worried he may have suffered a stroke or was battling a neurological condition such as Parkinson’s.
Clips from the podcast quickly went viral, with social media lighting up with worried comments.
“Does he have Parkinson’s?” one viewer asked. Another said, “John can barely get one clear sentence out. It’s sad — he’s so sharp on screen.”
Others speculated he might be on medication or recovering from a medical emergency. “He’s struggling,” one fan wrote bluntly.
Malkovich has faced plenty of personal heartbreak over the years.
He famously lost his entire life savings in Bernie Madoff’s $64.8 billion Ponzi scheme and later admitted, “Everything I’d ever made was gone… That was a couple of days of shock.”
The Con Air and Dangerous Liaisons star has also spoken about a violent childhood in Illinois — including brutal beatings from his father and older brother. At one point, Malkovich said he even chased his brother with a knife after years of torment.
Friends now worry those decades of trauma and stress may be taking a toll.
“John’s had an enormous amount of loss,” one longtime collaborator told RadarOnline. “People wondered whether all that pressure finally caught up with him.”
