Charlie Sheen’s tell-all memoir is stirring up a fresh family storm — and his dad isn’t laughing.
The former “Two and a Half Men” star has been gleefully spilling secrets about drugs, prostitutes, and past chaos while promoting The Book of Sheen, his no-holds-barred new memoir. But insiders say 85-year-old Martin Sheen, who spent years trying to pull his son back from the brink, is “appalled” by the way Charlie is joking about his dark past instead of taking accountability.
“Charlie’s treating this book tour like a victory lap,” one source told reporters. “He’s bragging about all the insanity instead of owning up to the pain he caused his family — especially his dad.”
In the book, Charlie revisits the infamous 1998 incident when Martin called the cops on him after a drug overdose violated his parole. At the time, Charlie saw it as “the biggest betrayal imaginable.” Now, he says he understands it was an act of love — though his tone, sources claim, “makes it sound like a punchline.”
That’s left Martin heartbroken. The Apocalypse Now icon stood by Charlie through public meltdowns, arrests, divorces, and his HIV diagnosis — but hoped his son’s memoir would be a sign of growth.
“Martin wants to be proud,” the insider explained. “But every time Charlie jokes about those years, it’s like he’s mocking the people who saved him.”
Despite the tension, Martin isn’t trying to overshadow his son’s success. “He just wants Charlie to grow up, be professional, and finally show the maturity he’s capable of,” the source added.
The Book of Sheen is due out later this month — and if early reactions are any sign, it’s shaping up to be just as wild and unpredictable as its author.
