Fans of TLC’s Meet The Putmans are reeling after a devastating tragedy struck the famous Michigan family. Three beloved members of the reality TV clan were killed in a horrific car accident, while several others remain hospitalized with serious injuries.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed on Instagram by Isabelle Putman on Saturday, September 27. She revealed that patriarch “Papa” Bill Putman, along with family members Neenee and Aunt Megan, lost their lives in the crash.
Several others — Uncle Blake, Lulu, Alena, Noah, and Gia — survived but are still being treated in the hospital. “We are asking for complete healing and strength for each of them,” Isabelle wrote in her emotional post, also asking fans for continued prayers during the family’s darkest time.
Despite their grief, the Putmans leaned on their strong faith. Isabelle reminded followers that the entire family “proclaims that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior,” adding that even through heartbreak, they find comfort in believing “God is in control.”
The Putman family first shot to fame on TLC in 2017 with Meet The Putmans, which showcased their massive household of four generations living under one roof. The series later found new life on YouTube as Growing Up Putman.
But the tragedy also comes with controversy. Just last year, Papa Bill made headlines after being convicted on four counts of assault and battery stemming from a confrontation outside a medical complex the family was building. He was sentenced to probation and community service but publicly apologized in court, admitting he had “screwed up.”
Now, fans of the show are left in shock as the once tight-knit, larger-than-life family faces unimaginable loss.
