Ryan Reynolds is in hot water after confessing that he single-handedly ruined one of Denzel Washington’s most emotional movie moments — and then blamed the crew to dodge the fallout.

What he thought was a funny behind-the-scenes story has exploded into a Hollywood feud that’s dragging both Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, into a PR nightmare.

Reynolds, 48, made the shocking confession during a September 5 appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival, recalling how he sabotaged a dramatic scene on the set of the 2012 action thriller Safe House.

In the pivotal moment, Denzel Washington’s character — bleeding, broken, and confessing his sins — was giving a gut-wrenching monologue. “He’s been shot, wounded, dying, admits everything he did wrong. Tears are rolling down his face,” Reynolds said. “And suddenly you hear, ‘Come fly with me, let’s fly, let’s fly away.’”

It wasn’t a rogue sound effect. It was Reynolds’ own phone blaring Frank Sinatra in the middle of the take. And instead of owning up, he turned on the stunt team.

Reynolds admitted he looked straight at the stuntmen and exploded: “Who the f—’s phone is that? Inexcusable!” Washington, now 70, stopped mid-performance, furious about the interruption, while Reynolds secretly mouthed to the assistant director that the ringtone was his.

They reshot the entire scene without telling Denzel the truth. “I’m like, ‘Yes, the stuntmen! Inexcusable!’” Reynolds joked, expecting laughs.

While TIFF audiences chuckled, social media erupted with outrage when clips hit X (formerly Twitter).

“Not surprised he lied about it. A little surprised he came clean,” one user wrote. Another fumed, “Ryan Reynolds is an elitist who blames the working man for his mistakes, got it.”

Others dragged Blake Lively, 37, who’s already embroiled in a nasty legal war with It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni. “What a weasel,” one commenter jeered. “He and Blake are perfect together — in the worst way.”

Reynolds’ TIFF trip has been chaos from start to finish. Just a day earlier, he was accused of humiliating a child reporter on the red carpet for John Candy: I Like Me. When the nervous youngster introduced himself, Reynolds cut him off and said, “Nice to meet you too, let’s skip to the question.”

And then came his tense clash with Schitt’s Creek star Eugene Levy. Lip readers claim Reynolds told Levy, “Bulls—, man,” sparking a sharp rebuke. Levy allegedly responded, “Language, you don’t need to speak so harsh,” to which Reynolds snapped, “Please don’t ever tell me how I can talk to people.”

Now, Reynolds’ carefully crafted image as Hollywood’s charming funny guy is starting to crack. Between feuding with Denzel Washington, humiliating child reporters, and sparring with beloved Canadian icons, fans are questioning if the Deadpool star’s off-screen persona is more diva than deadpan.

And with Blake Lively’s legal troubles adding fuel to the fire, insiders say the couple could be facing a full-blown image crisis.
