According to Hollywood insiders, Oprah was key in launching Meghan and Harry’s media brand, but now that connection has “gone quiet.” The recent low-key celebration of Meghan’s 44th birthday in Beverly Hills only highlighted how many celebrity friends have drifted away. Notable absences included Serena Williams, Tyler Perry, and even Montecito neighbors Oprah and Katharine McPhee.
“It was a private dinner with no speeches or surprises,” a source close to the couple said. “But the absence of former star-studded guests was noticeable.” While there’s no feud, it’s clear the dynamics have changed. Meghan is now focusing on family and work, and some friends have moved on.
Sharing a simple Instagram photo from her birthday, Meghan thanked her husband, family, friends, and even fans she doesn’t know personally for their love and support.
Meanwhile, Meghan’s Netflix lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, was a flop, ranking 383rd in the streamer’s most-watched shows of early 2025. Prince Harry’s polo show did even worse. Though a second season was filmed back-to-back with the first, insiders say their Netflix deal is essentially over, with no plans for renewal once their five-year contract ends this year.
With Hollywood opportunities drying up, sources say Prince Harry is feeling “marooned” in Los Angeles, yearning to repair relations with King Charles III and return to a more traditional royal life. One insider described Harry’s current situation as “in the toilet,” hoping for a comeback in Britain where he can reconnect with his old life, charity work, and friends.
