Ed Kelce, the proud father of NFL superstars Travis and Jason Kelce, is mourning a deeply personal loss this week. His longtime partner, Maureen Maguire, passed away peacefully on Saturday at the age of 74.

Ed broke the news on his personal Facebook page, where he shared a heartfelt tribute to Maureen, describing her as a “devoted mother” with “impeccable taste” and a zest for life that touched everyone around her. Friends and family remember her for her warmth, her adventurous spirit, and her ability to find joy in the little things.

“She embraced life with passion and joy,” Ed wrote in the post. “She was my beloved friend, a partner through laughter and life’s journeys.”

Though Maureen didn’t grow up a football fan, she developed a deep love for the sport later in life — thanks in no small part to her relationship with Ed. Over the years, she became a familiar face at games, often seen in the stands cheering on Travis and Jason. Whether it was tailgating, traveling for away games, or sitting beside Ed on the couch for Sunday matchups, football quickly became one of their shared passions.

According to her obituary, Maureen didn’t just attend games — she embraced the full experience. She traveled extensively across the country with Ed, combining her newfound love for football with her already adventurous nature. Concerts, weekend road trips, and spontaneous getaways were part of the fabric of their life together.

“She also grew an unexpected love for football later in life, sharing many laughs and adventures with her beloved friend Ed Kelce and her loyal dog Butch,” the obituary reads.

Maureen’s sense of humor remained intact even as her world intersected with pop culture. When she met Travis’ girlfriend, global music sensation Taylor Swift, she didn’t miss a beat. Ed recounted a moment to the L.A. Times earlier this year when Maureen playfully joked with Taylor during one of their first meetings, telling her, “Hey, that’s my boyfriend,” as Taylor posed next to Ed for a photo. It was classic Maureen — quick-witted, playful, and always ready to lighten the mood.

She leaves behind a large and loving family, including three children, six grandchildren, and two siblings. Her memory will be honored in a ceremony in Pennsylvania later this week, where family and friends will gather to celebrate a life well lived.

As Ed continues to mourn her loss, it’s clear that Maureen made a lasting impact not just on him, but on all who knew her. Her legacy is one of laughter, loyalty, and love — the kind of person who made the world a little brighter just by being in it.
