Jeffrey Epstein’s longtime lawyer, Alan Dershowitz, is calling for Ghislaine Maxwell to be released from prison—and given full immunity to testify before Congress about Epstein’s shadowy network.
In a weekend appearance on Newsmax’s Sunday Agenda, Dershowitz said Maxwell is unfairly “serving the sentence that Epstein would have gotten” and argued that her 20-year sentence for sex trafficking should be commuted.
“She should never be in jail for 20 years,” he said. “She should be free. She should have her sentence commuted. She should then be called in front of Congress, have Congress give her total immunity, and then she can tell everything she knows.”
Maxwell, now 62, is serving her sentence for trafficking underage girls to Epstein, the disgraced financier who died under mysterious circumstances in federal custody in 2019.
Dershowitz’s push comes amid renewed attention to the Epstein scandal after the Department of Justice recently stated it does not have a “client list” tied to Epstein’s alleged sex ring. The lack of documentation has only fueled public speculation and conspiracy theories about powerful people who may have been involved.
Maxwell has tried to get her conviction tossed by arguing that a 2006 non-prosecution agreement between Epstein and federal prosecutors in Florida should have protected her too. Dershowitz helped Epstein negotiate that deal, which controversially shielded him from serious federal charges. But federal courts have rejected Maxwell’s claim, and the Justice Department reaffirmed its position earlier this month.
“It would be extremely strange if the [non-prosecution agreement] left Epstein himself open to federal prosecution in another district—while protecting his coconspirators from prosecution anywhere,” Solicitor General John Sauer wrote in a brief to the Supreme Court.
Dershowitz insists Maxwell holds key information and that releasing her could help expose the truth about Epstein’s vast and murky empire. “She knows everything,” he said. “She would have no reason for withholding anything.”
In an op-ed for The Wall Street Journal, Dershowitz claimed that while Epstein had no formal “client list,” there were names mentioned by alleged victims—and courts have since sealed those records.
“They should be disclosed,” Dershowitz wrote. “I know who they are. They don’t include any current officeholders. We don’t know whether the accusations are true.”
Maxwell’s legal team has not responded to Dershowitz’s statements.
As questions about Epstein’s powerful connections continue to swirl, Dershowitz’s proposal is sure to stir debate—and outrage. But it also reflects growing pressure to uncover who, exactly, was involved behind the scenes.

NO WAY SHE WAS PART OF HIS NASTY OPERATION 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
Maxwell taking 20 years for ‘the team’… was it all outside the USA, though?
If a lawyer knows names then he could confirm her testimony once and for all. I would release if she tells all but with conditions. Never around children, those on the list, no books, no interviews, ankle bracelet, electronics monitored, protection especially from those named. No reason to have her name on Clinton’s list.
Alan Dershowitz also says that no elected official is on the list. So what do we need Maxwell’s testimony for?? And, we are going to believe her testimony like this pos won’t lie before congress? Are we the people considered that stupid now? Leave President Trump alone now. Did you hear that that no elected official is on the list!!
Dershowitz has completely lost his moral compass, assuming he ever had one
I agree that they should \’work a deal\’ with her, in exchange for her testimony. But, don\’t be surprised by her SUDDEN Epstein type death. She will probably never make it to testify.
ALAN IS ON THE EPSTEIN INFO ALSO. HE SETTLED A LAWSUIT FROM A WOMAN YRS AGO. prob. thinks if she testified, she wouldn’t name him as pay back for getting her out.
