President Donald Trump’s birthday bash on Saturday was meant to be a spectacle of American might and a tribute to the Army’s 250th anniversary. Instead, it’s become a political headache—complete with empty bleachers, awkwardly grinning soldiers, and a furious president demanding answers from his own defense chief.

Sources close to the White House say Trump was “livid” after what insiders are now calling the “Birthday Parade Disaster.” The president had ordered a “menacing” show of military strength through the streets of D.C.—think tanks, troops, and a patriotic roar meant to drown out the June drizzle.

But according to biographer Michael Wolff, who revealed the debacle on The Daily Beast Podcast, Trump got the opposite: “He wanted power and intimidation, but what he got was almost a street fair,” Wolff said. “The soldiers were having fun. They were waving. He thought it looked weak.”

One parade-goer told The Daily Beast, “Honestly, it felt more like a block party than a military parade. No one was scared—most people were just bored.”

As the parade fizzled, Trump wasted no time lashing out at Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. “He kind of reamed out Hegseth for this,” Wolff reported, describing a tense phone call where Trump berated his handpicked Pentagon boss for a “tone problem.”

“He kept repeating himself: ‘Why did it look like that? Who approved this? The tone was all wrong!’” Wolff shared. The president, he added, was especially angry that the parade “didn’t send the message that he was the commander of a menacing force.”

Even the weather seemed to snub the president. Rain clouds loomed over Constitution Avenue as thousands of soldiers marched past rows of empty seats. Official White House figures claimed 250,000 people showed up. But Wolff and other witnesses said the real number was closer to 40,000—maybe.

Critics on social media mocked the out-of-sync marching and called the parade “awkward,” noting that even die-hard Trump fans seemed to stay home.

The parade’s $45 million price tag also raised eyebrows. “All that money for a wet ghost town?” tweeted one D.C. resident.

When asked about Wolff’s claims, White House communications director Steven Cheung went nuclear. “He routinely fabricates stories from his sick and warped imagination,” Cheung blasted. “Trump Derangement Syndrome has rotted his peanut-sized brain.”

But parade insiders say the complaints are real. “I heard it with my own ears,” said one staffer. “The president was yelling that he’d been humiliated on his own birthday.”

This isn’t Trump’s first parade headache. He’s been fixated on military spectacles since 2017, after watching France’s Bastille Day blowout with President Macron. “We’re going to have to try and top it,” Trump reportedly told Macron.

But city officials in D.C. balked at Trump’s plans, warning that tanks would wreck the roads and that the price tag could soar into the tens of millions. Still, the president wouldn’t let go of his dream—despite reports he’d privately insulted U.S. troops as “suckers” and “losers,” allegations he’s denied but were confirmed by former Chief of Staff John Kelly.

To add insult to injury, “No Kings” demonstrations against Trump’s immigration crackdown drew much bigger crowds across the country the same weekend.

Yet Trump remained defiant. “Last night was a tremendous success with a fantastic audience,” he insisted to reporters Sunday, bragging that the forecast called for rain but “it didn’t rain at all.”

Even at the G7 Summit on Monday, Trump couldn’t let it go—telling Canada’s prime minister, “We had the parade. They said 100 percent chance of rain. It didn’t rain.”

The president wanted thunder, but D.C. delivered a drizzle. Now, as Trump looks for someone to blame, all eyes are on his feuding inner circle—and a parade that may be remembered more for empty seats and presidential rage than military might.

  1. Ok, so you’re a bunch of fucking liars. Now what, Israel is losing to Iran, you fucking idiots.

    1. Humongous, humongous waste of American tax dollars ! 45 million dollars down the drain for a failed power show birthday party. This is a major embarrassment to Trump. Few people cared in the first place, and it showed when a very low turnout came. Sorry spectacle !!

  2. so, come on, what precisely was a lie? he & pete, the drunk’s fight? read it in multiple diff. papers, from multiple diff. sources. and, if wolfe is such a liar & dis-reputable scoundrel, why did trump allow him dozens of hours of interview time over the yrs & books? cuz, trump’s stupid? burn me once………

  3. This article was extremely biased and described a failing Parade — and President! DISGUSTING! And markedly untrue!
Please do not embarrass yourself and the readers by writing an article complaining about that parade! Everyone I’ve spoken to across the U.S. had nothing but good things to say about our Military prowess! You, on the other hand, badmouthed everything including our President! Shameful, if not completely intolerable!

  4. I thought fit was an excellent military parade and it’s about time we honored our military with some fanfare and respect. I thought it was excellent and the president was very respectful. Those grinning soldiers were somebody’s sons or daughters who needed to be honored. I thought it was a military parade way overdue.

  5. Trump wasn’t celebrating the Army’s anniversary; he’s celebrating HIS birthday!! What a joke🤨

  6. The Democrats (Barack Obama) are still attacking the President and plan to continue their assault. Those who left the Democrats camp can now see how their party really functions to disrupt America in every way possible.
