There’s no royal olive branch in sight—and insiders say it’s Harry and Meghan who’ve torched the bridge.
Despite Prince Harry’s public pleas for a family “reconciliation,” RadarOnline.com has learned King Charles is “disgusted” by what insiders claim is a shocking backdoor attempt to bargain royal privileges in exchange for access to his grandchildren—Archie and Lilibet.
A Royal Ultimatum?
Sources close to the palace allege that Harry and Meghan have hinted they would restrict King Charles’ time with the kids unless the monarch reinstates their police protection in the U.K. and helps preserve their royal titles long-term.
“This isn’t diplomacy—it’s blackmail,” a senior palace source told Radar. “The King sees it as emotional extortion, and it’s sickening to him, especially as he battles cancer.”
Privately, insiders say the monarch has called the maneuver “bribery in all but name.”
‘He’s Fighting for His Life—and They’re Playing Games’
Charles, 76, has kept a low profile while undergoing treatment for cancer, but sources say this latest stunt by his youngest son may be the final straw.
“Using his illness as a pressure point, suggesting time is running out for a reunion—it’s manipulative,” a senior courtier revealed. “It’s ruined any remaining goodwill.”
Even Harry’s former allies inside the royal household are reportedly appalled. “The suggestion that the King must ‘pay’ to see his grandkids, emotionally or otherwise, has triggered absolute fury behind palace walls,” the courtier added.
Harry’s Desperate Plea Falls Flat
Speaking to the BBC recently, Harry claimed, “There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore,” and said he hoped for “reconciliation.”
But in nearly the same breath, he blasted the U.K.’s decision to strip his family of taxpayer-funded police protection—insisting that without it, his wife and children would never return.
“I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point,” Harry said. “It’s just not safe.”
Critics point out the contradiction: the self-exiled prince says he wants healing—while threatening a permanent estrangement if demands aren’t met.
Montecito vs. Monarchy
The Sussexes, now living in a $14 million estate in Montecito, California, famously fled royal life in 2020 claiming they sought “privacy”—only to sign multimillion-dollar deals with Netflix and Spotify, dish dirt in a bombshell Oprah interview, and unload grievances in Harry’s memoir Spare.
Royal author Tom Quinn says the palace views their behavior as nothing short of transactional.
“Charles is devastated,” Quinn told Radar. “He may never get the chance to bond with Archie and Lilibet. And the idea that access to them is conditional—it’s something he can’t forgive.”
Frozen Out by William
The rift between Harry and King Charles is explosive—but his relationship with Prince William is ice-cold.
According to insiders, the brothers haven’t spoken since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in 2022.
“They barely made eye contact,” Harry admitted in Spare.
A royal family friend told Radar: “There’s no path forward. William has shut the door completely. He’s done.”
No Way Back
The royals may still appear poised in public—but behind palace doors, the fractures are irreversible.
As King Charles juggles cancer treatment with royal duties, sources say he’s quietly preparing for the future—with no intention of opening his heart to Harry and Meghan again.
“The King won’t be held hostage—emotionally or otherwise,” said one court insider. “For him, this is the final betrayal.”

The only reason that the King doesn’t see the grandkids is because of the steps the monarchy has taken against Harry and Meghan and making them “persona non gratis” within the royal family. If those measures hadn’t been taken, there would have been free access to the grandchildren – or are they not seeing this. H&M are not the only ones guilty here – the King and group are just as guilty for this mess. More than once Harry has tried to extend the olive branch, to make amends, to make things right …. and he has been duly slapped away each and every time. The King has always had “something” against Harry since he was young and he (King Charles III) always seemed more connected, more invested in William, so it’s really no surprise that he is treating Harry like this now. The King (etc) took permanent steps to a temporary problem, instead of allowing time to pass and see how things would play out. And I think William has had a much bigger hand in the actions that have been taken, even if just being that “bug in the ear” to the King. Chances are H&M just needed some time away, to defuse and regain themselves, especially since Meghan seemed to be the target of a lot of their (monarchy’s) disdain … so it’s no wonder they wanted “time off”. I honestly don’t think they wanted it to be a permanent thing – just enough to get their bearings. The monarchy didn’t have to take the immediate steps it took. It could have waited, taken time, tried to work things out with them …. they didn’t. So they are just as guilty for this division as M&H. I’m not saying M&H are guiltless – they’re not. I’m just saying it’s not just all them. There are other royals – both in England and other countries – that would be considered “non-working” and yet have not received the treatment that H&M have received, so honestly, I – personally – think this is less about protocol and more about some personal, deep-seated, grievance(s).
In that, you are wrong…what do you expect from a twice divorced harpy who wants everything? The Shrew knew that stepping back she wouldn’t get the titles, clothes, jewelry,ect so this is how she’s trying to worm her way back. Harry and Megan are losers! Their self-proclaimed entitlement is disgusting. Neither has talent, good business sense nor good decision making skills! They both should move back to Canada and allow them to burden the Canadian people and government. The vast majority of Americans don’t want them sponging off our system. Other former colonies like India would be an ideal place for them. Meghan would fit right in!
This is absolutely childess behavior on Charles to kick his son out of the family. How ridiculous. Charles has always been a pain and spoiled rotten. Harry was never going to be anything except a dumpster for William. So he chose to make a life for himself by marrying someone he loved but the others didn’t. Then moving to the USA because what was there for him in London???? Harry and Megan have taken the brunt for anything they do, just trying to survive and make a life for themselves. So, Harry wanted security to visit London, why the hell not? This world we live in is full of violence and hate and now that hatred is coming from his father and brother. Wake up, Life is short. Try loving oneanother. Such imature behavior. Queen Elizabeth was correct in not turning the crown over to Charles, he is a loser.
