ABC Anchor Suspended After Midnight Rant Against Top Trump Aide

In a dramatic move, ABC News suspended veteran anchor Terry Moran on Sunday following his inflammatory late-night tirade against White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller.

Moran, a longtime correspondent for ABC, took to X late Saturday night with a series of explosive remarks that quickly ignited outrage among conservative circles. In the now-deleted post, Moran lashed out at Miller, describing him as driven by “bile” and labeling him a “world-class hater.”

“What’s interesting about Stephen Miller is not brains—it’s bile,” Moran wrote. “This is a man who’s richly endowed with the capacity for hatred. You can see this just by looking at him because his hatreds are his spiritual nourishment. He eats his hate.”

The post further claimed that Miller’s supposed “hatred” surpasses even that of President Donald Trump, alleging that the president’s animosity serves “only as a means to an end, his own glorification.”

The swift backlash from the White House was fierce and immediate. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt condemned Moran’s remarks as “unhinged and unacceptable.”

“ABC should hold their so-called ‘journalist’ accountable immediately,” Leavitt tweeted Sunday morning, adding that the White House had already contacted the network demanding answers.

Vice President J.D. Vance echoed these sentiments, defending Miller as “motivated by a love of country.” He accused Moran of perpetrating “this absolutely vile smear,” suggesting it reflected a deeper elitist disdain.

“Stephen Miller is motivated by fear that people like Terry Moran make rules that normal Americans must follow while well-connected elites exempt themselves,” Vice President Vance declared, demanding Moran issue an immediate apology.

Katie Miller, Stephen Miller’s wife, joined the chorus calling for Moran’s termination. “This is exactly why Americans no longer trust legacy media,” she stated emphatically. “It’s blatant propaganda disguised as righteousness. Moran should be fired immediately.”

Katie Miller herself made headlines earlier this week when she exited the White House accompanied by Tesla CEO Elon Musk following his completion of duties at the Department of Government Efficiency.

This latest controversy adds another chapter to ABC’s contentious history with President Trump. Last year, the network issued a formal apology and paid $15 million toward Trump’s presidential library fund after anchor George Stephanopoulos misrepresented a court ruling involving Trump. That settlement underscored ongoing tensions between the Trump administration and mainstream media outlets.

ABC has yet to issue an official statement regarding Moran’s suspension or clarify its long-term plans for the anchor. Conservative voices continue to amplify demands for greater accountability from media organizations they accuse of harboring open bias against the Trump White House.
