Cher’s son Elijah Blue Allman has once again sparked concern after being spotted in a distressed state outside the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood.
Disturbing footage captured by the Daily Mail shows the 48-year-old musician looking dazed and disheveled while loitering near the celebrity hotspot. Clad in a torn gray T-shirt and sagging shorts, Allman appeared to be sweating profusely, occasionally stumbling and staring blankly into space. At one point, he approached the valet stand before slowly wandering off-camera.
Photos from the scene revealed more troubling details. Allman clutched what appeared to be a cigarette, his ankles visibly swollen, and a single red acrylic nail oddly adorned his right ring finger.
The son of music legend Cher and the late Gregg Allman has long battled addiction issues. In late 2023, Cher took legal steps to secure temporary sole conservatorship over her son, citing what she described as “severe mental health and substance abuse issues.” In court documents, the pop icon claimed that any money given directly to Elijah would be immediately spent on drugs, putting his life at risk.
The legal fight intensified in January 2024 when Cher filed new paperwork, expressing fears that Elijah’s estranged wife, singer Marieangela King, might try to block her son from participating in the conservatorship hearing. Cher also noted that Elijah earns $120,000 annually and receives regular payments from a trust established by his father.
Despite her efforts, Cher ultimately dropped the conservatorship petition in September 2024 after a months-long legal battle. Elijah’s legal team called it a win for their client, saying the outcome paved the way for the family to begin healing.
That reconciliation may have been short-lived. Just last month, King filed for divorce after 11 years of marriage.
Elijah has been candid about his struggles in the past. In a 2014 interview, he admitted to experimenting with drugs as early as age 11. “I mean it’s just what you did,” he said at the time. “Some close calls, some moments of really feeling at the edge of mortality… Even though you think you’re being safe, you never really are.”
The recent footage has renewed public concern over his well-being as family and fans hope he gets the help he needs.
