The political fallout from President Donald Trump’s heated exchange with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy continues to escalate.

However, some critics argue that the level of outrage and sympathy surrounding the event starkly contrasts with how Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was treated by previous U.S. administrations. Many conservatives see the media’s double standard at play, recalling the humiliations Netanyahu endured under Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

Selective Outrage Over White House Disputes

The global media’s reaction to Trump’s firm stance against Zelenskyy has been overwhelmingly negative. European leaders and mainstream U.S. outlets have expressed concern over Washington’s commitment to Ukraine. Yet, when Netanyahu was publicly rebuffed and insulted by Obama and Biden, the media and international community largely remained silent.

Dan Diker, President of the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs, weighed in on the situation:

“The real question is why the international media, European powers, and social networks were so quick to defend Zelenskyy after a mere disagreement with President Trump, yet had no sympathy for Netanyahu when he was repeatedly humiliated by Obama and Biden.”

Diker recalled one of the most striking incidents in 2010 when Obama abruptly left Netanyahu and his delegation at the White House to dine privately with his family, leaving the Israeli leader waiting.

“That was a calculated snub,” Diker noted. “Contrast that with the immediate, almost automatic support Zelenskyy received, even though he openly challenged a sitting U.S. president.”

Biden’s Profanity-Laced Attacks on Netanyahu

The hostility toward Netanyahu did not stop with Obama. Biden has had his share of openly berating the Israeli prime minister, especially as tensions escalated over Israel’s military actions against Hezbollah and Iranian-backed forces.

After Netanyahu defied Biden’s warnings and entered Rafah to rescue hostages from Hamas, the president reportedly fumed, calling Netanyahu “a f—ing liar” and “a pain in my a–.” According to a Politico report, Biden has referred to Netanyahu as “a bad f—ing guy.”

Following his 2024 State of the Union address, Biden was caught on a hot mic telling a colleague that he and Netanyahu would soon have “a come to Jesus moment.” The remark sparked backlash among pro-Israel conservatives who saw it as yet another sign of the Biden administration’s antagonistic posture toward America’s closest Middle Eastern ally.

Obama’s Legacy of Undermining Israel

While Biden’s rhetoric has been unfiltered, the Obama administration laid the groundwork for undermining Netanyahu on the world stage. In 2014, an unnamed Obama official famously referred to Netanyahu as “chickens—” in The Atlantic. The administration also orchestrated a “daylight policy” to distance the U.S. from Israel, which climaxed in 2016 when Obama refused to veto a U.N. Security Council resolution condemning Israeli settlements.

“Obama didn’t just want to criticize Netanyahu—he wanted to weaken Israel’s standing globally,” said Eugene Kontorovich, a senior research fellow at the Heritage Foundation. “His administration worked to isolate Israel while cozying up to Iran, the world’s leading state sponsor of terror.”

Double Standards in Media Coverage

The difference in coverage between Netanyahu’s treatment and Zelenskyy’s public dispute with Trump exposes a glaring double standard.

Despite facing multiple wars against Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iranian-backed militias, Netanyahu received little international sympathy when Obama and Biden repeatedly pressured Israel to make unilateral concessions. Yet Zelenskyy, who has openly criticized U.S. policy and refused to compromise in negotiations with Russia, is widely praised as a heroic figure.

President Trump, for his part, has indicated that he is open to re-engagement with Ukraine but remains firm on America’s national interests.

“Zelenskyy can come back when he is ready for peace,” Trump stated after their contentious meeting.

As the political drama unfolds, the broader question remains: Why is Israel held to a different standard than Ukraine? And why do Democratic administrations treat America’s strongest ally in the Middle East with open hostility while extending endless diplomatic goodwill to others?

  1. They had no business treating this man like that. trump is such a poor excuse for a human being. This was such a disgraceful act that gives America a black eye. And just why is trump taking the side of the communist Putin ?

    1. Welfare grifter Zelensky just needed to sign what he had already agreed to…
Communists Obummer/Jokementia gave Communist Putin 4 lands so far… Trump gave him nothing but will get back the $$Billions that Jokementia Bribery illegally gifted to his partner in crime/war Zelensky…
UK may LOAN a mere $2Billion to Zelensky to continue his unpopular war with…

  2. That’s the law of the Democrats, do as I say, not do what I do!! Democrats are leading the people of America straight to HELL, no? Look at the past Democrats in office, Clinton a natural cheater, Obama, a Muslim, does not believe in the real God, and then we have Biden, a stooge for Obama, Pelosi, and Schumer. What wonderful examples they are, lead you down the wide road to destruction!!!

  3. Where is it written that you HAVE to be aligned with either Zalenssky or you are automatically aligned with Putin, or the other way around? If the European countries are concerned about Russia why have they violated the Minsk agreement and assumed the United States will come to their rescue?

Victoria Nulan staged the installation of this failed comedian along with the usual deep state actors and the American People have more than paid enough for this debacle… one more example of how this policy of spreading “democracy” inevitably fails everyone and leads to disaster.

  4. US signed multiple treaties promising we would protect them. we broke them, same as russia, even w.o trump’s love of putin. trump wants russia to keep all the land they have stolen. that’s the difference: ukraine was invaded. nettie killed millions, while trying to take land from the original owners.

    1. Weak Communist Jokementia Bribery was president, it was up to him to stop Putin from invading, but he didn’t, just waved a limp wrist at him! It’s not Trump’s job to get back what our Communists gave away! He’ll just get the $$Billions back that weak Jokementia kept illegally feeding into that unneeded unnecessary war…
