In a move that’s raising eyebrows, former Vice President Kamala Harris has signed with Hollywood’s Creative Artists Agency (CAA) just months after her decisive defeat to President Donald Trump.

This partnership suggests Harris is eager to maintain her public presence through lucrative speaking engagements and potential book deals.

Critics argue that Harris’s pivot to a talent agency underscores her deep ties to the entertainment elite, a relationship that has been both a boon and a point of contention throughout her political career. Notably, CAA’s top brass—Richard Lovett, Bryan Lourd, and Kevin Huvane—were significant supporters of Harris’s campaign, blurring the lines between politics and Hollywood.

This development comes on the heels of Harris’s controversial tenure as California’s Attorney General. In 2012, she oversaw the closure of the state’s Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement, a move that former law enforcement officials claim severely weakened California’s anti-drug and anti-gang efforts. One ex-agent remarked, “She was the original defunder of the police.”

Additionally, Harris’s prosecutorial record has been marred by allegations of wrongful convictions. Jamal Trulove, who was exonerated after being wrongfully imprisoned for murder, recounted his experience, stating that Harris “laughed while sending me to prison for a crime I didn’t commit.”

As Harris plots her next move, some speculate she may eye a return to California politics, possibly a gubernatorial run in 2026. However, with a track record fraught with controversy and a recent electoral defeat, questions loom about her future prospects.

In her concession speech on November 6, Harris urged her supporters to “stay engaged” and “continue fighting for justice and freedom.” Yet, with her latest foray into Hollywood representation, critics question whether her focus remains on public service or personal brand enhancement.
