As the offseason kicks off, several Buffalo Bills players spent part of Presidents’ Day with a president who knows a thing or two about winning. Former and likely future President Donald Trump met with a group of NFL stars at his Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach, a moment that quickly made waves on social media.

Spencer Brown, Dalton Kincaid, Sam Martin, Ryan Van Demark, and Tommy Doyle were all seen alongside Trump in a now-viral photograph posted by Brown. The towering offensive lineman kept his caption short and pointed: “45-47.” The message was clear—Trump, the 45th president, is expected by many supporters to reclaim the White House as the 47th.

Doyle added to the moment by sporting a “Make America Great Again” hat, the signature slogan of Trump’s presidential campaigns. “Met the president on Presidents’ Day,” Doyle wrote on his Instagram Stories, a fitting tribute to the holiday.

The scene was more than just a casual meet-and-greet; it was another indication of Trump’s enduring popularity among many athletes, particularly in the NFL.

Trump’s relationship with professional football has been well-documented, from his ownership of the USFL’s New Jersey Generals in the 1980s to his outspoken criticism of the NFL over national anthem protests. Yet, despite media narratives, his support within the league remains strong.

Star defensive end Nick Bosa of the San Francisco 49ers made headlines last season when he celebrated a sack with Trump’s signature dance move. “I think you know the answer to that question,” Bosa quipped when asked why he did it. “The boys wanted me to do it, and it was fun.”

Trump has also been a fixture at major sporting events. Just last week, he was spotted at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, where he predicted a Chiefs victory. Although the Eagles ultimately triumphed, the president’s presence was unmistakable. He also made an appearance at the Daytona 500, greeting fans and posing with police officers and first responders.

With Trump dominating both the political and cultural conversation, his presence in sports continues to be a focal point. Will he make an appearance at the 4 Nations Face-Off final in Boston? Given his recent streak, it wouldn’t be surprising.

One thing is certain—Trump’s influence reaches far beyond politics. Whether it’s the golf course, the football field, or the campaign trail, he remains at the center of the action.
