Alan Dershowitz, the firebrand legal analyst and former Harvard Law professor, has unleashed a blistering attack on the late Queen Elizabeth II, painting her as an “antisemitic” monarch propped up by privilege and bigotry. On his podcast, The Dershow, Dershowitz didn’t mince words, declaring that Britain’s longest-serving ruler was “ignorant” and “overrated.”
“Queen Elizabeth was no great person,” he said bluntly. “She had a lot of bigotry and antisemitism.”
Refusing to Visit Israel: A Statement or Snub?
Dershowitz zeroed in on a glaring omission in Elizabeth’s seven-decade reign—her refusal to visit Israel. While she traveled to over 120 countries, the Jewish state was conspicuously absent from her itinerary.
“In all her years, she never once set foot in Israel,” Dershowitz said. “Her husband did, because his mother is buried there, and King Charles is a friend of the Jewish community. But Elizabeth? Nothing but contempt for Jews and Israel.”
This, Dershowitz argued, wasn’t a coincidence but a reflection of a deep-seated prejudice. “Don’t be fooled by the pomp and circumstance,” he said. “The Windsor family has a dark history of bigotry and Nazi sympathies.”
The Nazi Connection
Dershowitz didn’t stop there. He tied his criticism to the monarchy’s historical baggage, pointing directly to Elizabeth’s uncle, King Edward VIII, who abdicated in 1936 and later toured Nazi Germany, cozying up to Adolf Hitler.
“The Windsor family’s hands are dirty,” he declared. “They were Germans, and many of them supported the Nazis. It’s time people stopped worshiping these figureheads.”
While Dershowitz acknowledged King Charles III’s more progressive stance on Jewish issues, he spared no sympathy for Elizabeth. “She was very overrated,” he added. “She lived a long life, but ignorance and personal bigotry defined her reign.”
Former Israeli President Confirms Frosty Relationship
Dershowitz’s claims come weeks after former Israeli President Reuven Rivlin opened up about his strained relationship with the Queen. Speaking at a London event celebrating the Technion Institute of Technology’s centenary, Rivlin described the monarch’s apparent hostility.
“She believed we were all either terrorists or the children of terrorists,” Rivlin said. “She refused to welcome any Israeli officials to Buckingham Palace except for obligatory international events.”
In stark contrast, Rivlin praised King Charles III, calling him “a true friend of Israel and the Jewish people.”
The Royal Facade Cracks
Dershowitz’s outburst adds fuel to a growing fire of criticism against the Royal Family. Once untouchable symbols of tradition, the Windsors are increasingly being scrutinized for their elitism, outdated practices, and murky history.
For critics, the Queen’s carefully cultivated image as a neutral, benevolent figure now seems like a veneer hiding decades of exclusion and prejudice.
“The world is finally waking up,” said Dershowitz. “We don’t need figureheads who represent outdated, bigoted institutions.”
The late Queen may be celebrated by some, but for many, her legacy now stands as a stark reminder of the monarchy’s darker truths.
