King Charles’ annual Christmas address has sparked controversy. Critics accuse the monarch of snubbing his youngest son, Prince Harry, and Harry’s family in California, as he focused on themes of unity and togetherness.

The King’s speech, broadcast to millions, emphasized the importance of family and friends during the holiday season. Yet, there was no mention of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, or their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The omission was particularly glaring when Charles spoke about safeguarding the environment “for the sake of our children’s children.” While this comment could have subtly included Archie and Lilibet, it stopped short of a direct acknowledgment.

In contrast, the speech prominently featured images of Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their children, Princess Charlotte, Prince George, and Prince Louis. This visual disparity further fueled accusations of favoritism and exclusion.

While much of the British media’s coverage of the speech was positive, the apparent snub did not go unnoticed online. Social media users criticized the King for what they called a “blatant” disregard for Harry’s family. “How can you preach family unity and ignore your own son?” one Twitter user questioned.

Royal insiders suggest that reconciliation between Charles and Harry is unlikely anytime soon. According to sources, Prince William remains a significant obstacle. William reportedly opposes mending ties with Harry, citing the latter’s public allegations against the family, including accusations of racism involving Kate Middleton. These revelations, detailed in Harry’s memoir and interviews, have deepened the rift.

Adding to the complexity is Charles’ health. The King is reportedly battling cancer, which has heightened his desire to resolve family disputes. However, he is said to feel constrained, unwilling to impose a settlement that William cannot accept. “Charles doesn’t want to pass on unresolved issues to William,” an insider revealed.

The British royals aren’t the only monarchy under scrutiny this holiday season. Norway’s royal family has faced a challenging year, marked by scandals and declining public support. In a candid Christmas interview, Crown Princess Mette-Marit reflected on the turmoil. “If I had to choose one word for this year, it would be ‘challenging,’” she said.

The troubles include legal issues surrounding Mette-Marit’s son, Marius Borg Hoiby, who has been accused of multiple crimes, including assault and sexual misconduct. Despite admitting to some charges, Borg Hoiby denies others. Mette-Marit acknowledged the strain, saying, “We have been receiving professional help as a family.”

Meanwhile, King Harald, 87, struggles with health problems, further destabilizing the monarchy. In the same program, he commented on his grandson’s legal issues. “It’s hard that someone we love has experienced this, but now we must let the legal system work as it should,” he said. Queen Sonja added, “It’s clear that it’s taking its toll.”

Adding to their woes is the controversial marriage of Princess Martha Louise to American shaman Durek Verrett. Verrett’s claims of racism have polarized public opinion, further eroding the monarchy’s standing. Support for Norway’s royals has fallen from 81% in 2017 to just 62% this year.

What’s Next for the Royals?

Both the British and Norwegian royal families face mounting challenges, with public perception at a critical juncture. As these monarchies navigate personal and public crises, their ability to adapt and reconcile will undoubtedly shape their future.

  1. The liberal media throughout the world is always ready to chastise the good and forget the previous wrong doing like in this case of King Charles and his second son Harry. The media is pointing out that Charles is being hypocritical in acknowledging family yet fails to mention his own son. What’s interesting is that they ( the media) seem to have forgotten that it easbHarry who abandoned not only family but also country and who not only abandoned his Royal duties and military but who had and continue s to persecute and accused both family and even the media of being prejudice and persecuting him and his Smerican family. I’d also like to mention that whenever there are mixed race marriages, somehow whatever problem might arise, it’s always blame on prejudice. Why can’t it be human nature or class and or culture or perhaps all not just race!

  2. Strange that the media is telling all the King Charles does mention his son. This man King Charles is trying to do right by his country all the while battling cancer and taking hits from his son and wife with undoubtably lies and attacks fir the past few years making it quite difficult for Charles. Charles is looking ahead to he cancer free, enjoy life snd be King to his England and not be harbored down with the innuendos and hate filled lies Harry has flung.
