Mother Speaks Out After Daughter’s Remains Found in Freezer

For nearly two decades, the disappearance of Amanda Overstreet lingered as a silent mystery. In a shocking turn of events, the 16-year-old’s remains were discovered this January, locked away in a chest freezer at her former family home.

Amanda’s mother, Leanne Imer, has now broken her silence, revealing her own anguish and disbelief. “I had no idea she was there,” Imer told LiveNews. “We ate meat out of that freezer. I can’t even wrap my head around it.”

“He said they stopped near Amarillo because Amanda became upset and got out of the car,” Imer recalled. “She walked away, flipped him off, and disappeared around a corner. He waited for hours, then drove back to Colorado.”

Despite her doubts, Leanne says she believed Bradley’s story. “He was vivid in his descriptions. I had no reason to question him back then.”

Bradley, who passed away in 2021 from COVID-19 complications, had a troubled past. Records show a 2002 arrest in Arizona for drug trafficking, DUI, and possession of illegal firearms. He ultimately served probation after striking a plea deal.

Amanda’s life had been marked by upheaval. She was adopted at age three by her grandparents, Nelda and James Overstreet, in Texas. After Nelda fell ill in late 2004, Amanda returned to Colorado to live with the Imers.
