Just months ago, 20-year-old Dynus Saxon was gracing red carpets and appearing in high-profile campaigns, but today he faces murder charges after allegedly stabbing a young father to death in a Bronx apartment.

The once-promising model, known for his steely gaze and chiseled jawline, stood before a judge, shackled and subdued, a far cry from the confident persona he projected on runways and premieres.

Saxon was charged with the fatal stabbing of 35-year-old Kadeem Grant, a father of a young daughter, in a Mott Haven apartment on November 10. Prosecutors allege that without any warning, Saxon grabbed a knife and attacked Grant as he slept on a friend’s couch, stabbing him multiple times in the neck and chest. The crime scene was described by first responders as “gruesome,” with the knife still lodged in Grant’s chest when police arrived.

Witnesses and law enforcement are still piecing together the sequence of events. “This is the last thing anyone expected from a kid with a bright future ahead of him,” a neighbor said. “People think of models as the ones being photographed, not handcuffed.”

The case has all the makings of a tragic mystery. Saxon, who was friends with the apartment’s tenant, is suspected to have had some connection with both the victim and the tenant. Investigators have not ruled out the possibility of a love triangle, while others speculate that Saxon may have simply snapped in a moment of unexplainable rage.

Family members of both Saxon and Grant are reeling from the news. Grant’s father, who rushed to New York from Florida upon hearing of his son’s death, expressed heartache over his granddaughter growing up without her father. “He was a good kid, always there for his family and his daughter,” Christopher Grant shared. “This just doesn’t make sense.”

Saxon’s mother, who spoke with him shortly after his arrest, hinted that her son might not remember the events of that night, saying, “Dynus didn’t just decide to murder somebody.” The model, who suffered a deep wound to his hand during the attack, reportedly called his mother first from the hospital.

Saxon’s sudden downfall has left the modeling world in shock. Just three months ago, he was attending the red-carpet premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine with ease and charisma, and he was featured in campaigns for brands like Levi’s and magazines including Vogue Italia and L’Officiel Baltic. However, following his arrest, his agency, Dot Models New York, quickly scrubbed his images from its website, distancing itself from the unfolding scandal.

As Saxon awaits his next court appearance on December 3, legal experts say the public is watching closely. “It’s rare for someone so young, on the rise, to be involved in such a brutal crime,” said former NYPD detective Sarah Willis. “This story taps into society’s fascination with fame, beauty, and violence—a modern tragedy.”

Whether a moment of madness or a dark twist of fate, the case against Dynus Saxon is already being dubbed “the model murder,” and it promises to keep New Yorkers riveted as the details emerge.
