Beloved comedian and “Full House” actor Dave Coulier has revealed a heart-wrenching diagnosis: stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Known for his role as the goofy, lovable Joey Gladstone, Coulier opened up about his cancer battle Wednesday on NBC’s “Today” show. At 65, Coulier has been riding a “roller coaster” of emotions, navigating a health crisis he never saw coming.

“When the doctor told me, it felt like a punch to the gut,” Coulier shared. “You never think it’s going to happen to you. It’s always someone else.” Coulier, who was blindsided by a lump in his groin, faced an agonizing wait to find out if the cancer had spread to his organs or bones.

As he and his wife Melissa, 41, braced for the news, Coulier told her, “No matter how devastating this gets, I’m okay. I’ve had an incredible life with amazing people. If this is the end, I’m at peace.” Fortunately, doctors reassured him that the cancer remains contained within his lymphatic system—a small but hopeful silver lining.

Since starting chemotherapy, Coulier has experienced the highs and lows of intensive cancer treatment.

“There are days where I feel like I can conquer anything, and others where I just lie down and let it be what it is,” he admitted, his voice revealing both fear and resilience. Chemotherapy, he says, has “scared the daylights out of me,” with sessions planned every three weeks until February 2025.

The journey is grueling, but Coulier finds comfort in the high curability rate for his type of lymphoma. His sense of humor, known to millions from “Full House,” is still intact. “Hey, if Joey Gladstone can survive Danny Tanner’s cleaning habits, maybe I’ve got this,” he joked.

Coulier has been married to Melissa since 2014, and his family support has been steadfast. Before Melissa, he was married to Jane Modean, with whom he shares a 33-year-old son, Luc. Coulier’s close bond with his “Full House” family also remains strong.

The cast endured a collective heartbreak in January 2022 with the passing of co-star Bob Saget at 65. Reflecting on the loss, Coulier tweeted at the time, “My heart is broken. I love you, Bob. Your forever brother, Dave.”

As Coulier faces this unexpected chapter, he says he’s “just taking things one day at a time.” For fans who grew up watching Joey Gladstone’s comedic antics, this is a sobering reminder that life’s challenges spare no one.

Yet, Coulier is hopeful, drawing strength from loved ones and a lifetime of laughter—a legacy he’s not ready to leave behind.

  1. Dave Coulier needs to look into what Fenbendazole and ivermectin have been found to be able to do, to stop and totally get rid of cancer in people who have tried it.
