Donald Trump made waves again this Sunday during a Media Buzz interview on Fox News. He doubled down on his controversial comments about Haitian immigrants, questioning the disappearance of geese in Springfield, Ohio.

When host Howard Kurtz asked if Trump would take back his previous claims that immigrants were eating pets, Trump stood firm. “I don’t know if it’s true or not true,” he replied, refusing to back down.

Kurtz was taken aback. “Eating the pets—you don’t know if it’s true or not true?” he pressed. Trump then said, “I read something,” likely alluding to social media posts that circulated without evidence.

Kurtz pointed out that local officials had already debunked those rumors. But Trump wasn’t having it. “What about the goose, the geese? What happened there? They’re all missing,” he shot back.

These claims about immigrant pet-eating first surfaced during a rally in Arizona last month. Trump’s remarks were made in response to a growing concern about rising immigration and the challenges it poses for American communities. He sparked conversations across the nation about how immigrants are impacting local resources and safety.

The online chatter included speculation around an image of a man holding two geese in Ohio. Local officials clarified that the geese were killed in a car accident, but that didn’t stop Trump from drawing attention to the issue.

Defending his statements, Trump said, “I said something. The problem is you can’t put 30,000 people in a 50,000-person town and expect the city to do well. Springfield, Ohio, has been treated very unfairly.” His comments resonate with many Americans who feel that their towns are being overwhelmed by unchecked immigration.

Springfield has a population of about 58,000 and has faced significant economic challenges over the years. Many residents are concerned that the influx of immigrants could strain local resources and services even further. It’s a sentiment that many in rural America understand all too well.

Kurtz tried to give Trump an easy out, reminding him that local officials had debunked the claims. But Trump, known for his unyielding style, replied, “I don’t think it’s been debunked at all. I think nobody talks about it except you.”

Watch the interview below:

The issue has sparked legal action, too. The Haitian Bridge Alliance, a California-based group advocating for Haitian immigrants, has filed charges against Trump and Ohio Senator JD Vance. They accuse the former president of spreading false information and disrupting public services.

Despite the pushback, Trump’s supporters remain steadfast. His comments highlight the concerns many Americans have about immigration and its impact on local communities.

The media may try to dismiss his statements, but for many, Trump is voicing the worries of hard-working citizens who feel neglected. Whether his claims hold water or not, one thing is clear: Trump is tapping into a growing frustration among Americans who feel left behind and unheard.Americans feeling left behind.

  1. Many years ago when I was 15 my mother and I visited relatives assigned to Haiti by the US State Department. One of the first things we were told is to make sure the house cat. Kiki, could never be allowed outside because the Haitian peasants considered cats to be delicacies! So the claims the illegal Haitians in Springfield, OH might be eating pets is NOT far fetched!

  2. Trump doesn’t even know if the “rumors” are true or not. Why does he continue to comment on it. Every time he opens his mouth, some of his supporters are turning against him. Trump should talk about important and meaningful subjects.
