Lady Gaga is officially a mom — and insiders say the superstar and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, couldn’t be happier.

The 40-year-old singer and Polansky, 42, recently welcomed their first child together, marking a major new chapter for the longtime couple.

According to a source who spoke to PEOPLE, the new parents “both beam” whenever they talk about their baby.

“Michael seems lighter, happier,” the insider said.

And the couple apparently made sure their growing family came first. The source said Gaga and Polansky both stepped away from work over the summer so they could spend precious time at home with their newborn.

News of the baby was confirmed on Friday, Sept. 11.

For Gaga, motherhood is the fulfillment of a dream she has openly talked about for years.

The Grammy-winning superstar and Polansky were first romantically linked in 2020 after they were photographed kissing at a New Year’s Eve celebration in Las Vegas.

Their relationship eventually became much more serious, and Gaga publicly revealed in July 2024 that Polansky was her fiancé while speaking with French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal during the Paris Olympics.

Those close to the couple have long described Polansky as a steady presence in Gaga’s hectic life.

A source previously described him as “very sweet and supportive,” adding that because he is hardworking himself, he understands Gaga’s intense dedication to her career.

“They are a great team,” the source said.

Now, that team has become a family.

Gaga had made no secret of how badly she wanted children.

Back in 2019, while discussing what she hoped her life would look like over the following decade, the singer said she wanted to continue making movies — and become a mother.

“I want to have babies,” she said.

A year later, Gaga again opened up about motherhood, saying she was “very excited to have kids” and looked forward to becoming a mom.

That desire apparently only grew stronger.

During an October 2025 appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Gaga revealed that despite all of her ambitions in music and entertainment, one role mattered more than any other.

“What I really want is to be a mom,” she said, calling motherhood her hoped-for “next starring role.”

Less than a year later, Gaga has gotten her wish.

And according to those around her and Polansky, the couple appear to be embracing every minute of their new life as parents.
