Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is going viral — and not for her politics. The 85-year-old Democrat stunned concertgoers and the internet alike after she was caught on video dancing (or trying to) at Lady Gaga’s raucous “Mayhem Ball” in San Francisco on Sunday night.
With her husband Paul Pelosi at her side and a cocktail in hand, Pelosi swayed to the beat in the front row as Gaga belted out her biggest hits. Footage of the moment quickly spread across social media, with some calling it “iconic,” while others cringed at the sight.

“This has to be the most cringe video on the net right now,” one user posted.
“Ma’am I’m only 50 and I’m in bed by 10 p.m. What are you doing out?” joked another.
But Pelosi herself didn’t seem to mind the mockery. “It was a fabulous show in San Francisco!” she posted from her official X account. “The most fun I’ve had in a long time.”
She later told the San Francisco Chronicle, “Lady Gaga is very beautiful, extraordinarily talented, and surprisingly humble.”
The appearance raised eyebrows not only for her visible enthusiasm, but for the fact that it comes less than a year after she underwent major hip surgery. Back in December 2024, Pelosi suffered a serious fall while walking down a marble staircase in Luxembourg during a congressional trip. She was rushed to a hospital in Germany where she received a full hip replacement.
“She’s been recovering remarkably well,” a source close to the Pelosi family said. “Seeing her on her feet — and dancing no less — just eight months later is honestly impressive.”
But not everyone was cheering. Critics online questioned how the longtime California lawmaker managed to land front-row tickets to one of the summer’s hottest shows.
“Front row for Gaga? This diva has taste — and connections,” one user snarked.
“Retire already,” another added, suggesting Pelosi’s presence at the concert was a desperate bid to stay relevant.
Pelosi has been a known fan of Lady Gaga for years. In 2021, she was spotted at Radio City Music Hall for Gaga’s duet concert with Tony Bennett, where she reportedly cried during the pop star’s emotional tribute to the legendary crooner, who passed away in 2023.
Despite her age, the former Speaker isn’t slowing down — and she’s certainly not staying home. With the 2026 midterms on the horizon and talk swirling about her legacy, Pelosi appears to be writing her own encore — one concert at a time.
Whether you found it charming or cringeworthy, one thing is clear: Nancy Pelosi knows how to make an entrance — and a viral moment.
